Sarah - July Kit - Mixed Media Canvas

Hello crafty friends, Sarah here with you today for my very first Scrapping Fun Kit layout. This Kit is just beautiful! I love the bling, the flowers, the snowflakes....everything! This project is a mixed media canvas, featuring a photo of my friends Stephanie whilst on holiday in January (isn't she so lucky!).

Lets get started with a brief run down on how I put this canvas piece together....the canvas board being used was a piece that I had done some acrylic pouring on. The colours of red, green and silver remind me of Christmas and went well with the theme of Christmas in July, though the kit is so versatile it can be used for any wintery kind of project! The canvas hadnt quite worked out as I had planned, but I dont like to waste anything, so put it aside to use on the right project.
I added some white gesso to the edges and to parts of the surface of the canvas. I also added some Colour Blast paste in Snow White to create some shine and sparkle. I added some stamping to the canvas in blues and browns to compliment the elements of the kit. Taking the photo, I layered it with some of the papers in the kit as well as the snowflake cut apart, as pictured below. I used a piece of the lace along the side of the photo.
Adhere the photo and mats to the canvas. I cut apart the snowflake die cut and layered this along the top left corner and right side of the photo. I added some more of the gorgeous embellishments - the wooden veneer tree, bling, snowflake sequins and that beautiful flower to the top right corner.
Here are some close up shots of the finished project;
I hope you enjoyed this project and will be sure to get creative with how you might use this July kit. Check out the fantastic array of talent from the design team members on the blog and be sure to subscribe at https://scrappingfunkits.blogspot.com.au/

Lisa - July Kit - Tags

Hello again, there is so much in this months Scrapping Fun kit I even had enough to start on making some Christmas Tags. It's never too early... or is it?

The snowman post-it's are so cute, I wanted to use them all, I still have some left though which I have put away for later.  This is a quick overview and below you can have a closer look at each tag.

On this tag, I have used the Ribbon, Snowman, Twine and Snowflake sequins from the July Kit. I didn't leave much space for writing a name on it to attach to presents but as an after thought, I could probably add a small white tag to the bottom when the time comes.

This one is quite simple and again using the Ribbon, Snowman, Snowflake Sequins & Twine from the Kit. I tore a piece of white card and distressed it with green ink

This is probably my favourite one. I have used the Snowman, Twine and Snowman Washi Tape from the kit. The other items are from my stash.

I have layered torn white cardstock at the bottom of the tag. It doesn't show in these photos very well but it has a great effect in real life.

This tag is for my Grandson, Joey. I have used the Tag, Red Ribbon & snowman from the Kit. The Snowman's Belly is a nice size to write a salutation or put a name

This tag I have made using the cut-a-part from the Kit with a couple of embellishments and changing Winter to Christmas.

The Snowman Washi tape and the snowflake sequins make a great addition to this generic tag that can be used to dress up anyone's Christmas Gift or hang it on your tree.

Shay - July Kit - Snow Ball

Shay - Snow Ball -July 2017 Kit.

Shay here today with my layout from the July Kit, and I must say I am so in love with this kit! Soon as the kit arrived I knew I had to dig out my snow photos from a few years back ( yes I know I am behind and disorganised!) After hours of agonising over the 100’s of photo’s I took (yes I am constantly snapping) sharing memories with a girlfriend and son who was with us. I finally settled on a couple of pictures.

I chose two pattern papers for this layout, which is a huge achievement for me I struggle to match papers, I used the two gorgeous snowflake papers from the kit and the blue as well. I love the papers so much I cut out the excess that you wouldn’t see and saved it for more layouts.
Snow flake embellishment with dimonte centre.
I was careful in choosing paper for this layout, I didn't want it to feel to wintery even though that was the aim of the layout. So I went with this lovley green and white background paper from We R Memory Keepers Love notes Paper pad. I raided my stash as well to find the butterfly and branch stem to add to the glasscine bag to hide the journalling a little bit more. The tag, butterfly, and branch and the word beautiful are all from the Wildfire Collection by Kaisercraft. I used "wink of stella" pen clear to add a bit of bling to the flower that come in the kit and the wording, the winter word come from my stash as well and was obtained off Ebay.

I used the punch outs from the kit to decorate the page with snow flakes

Lisa - July Kit - A Lazy Day In

Hello again, this is my second layout using the Scrapping Fun Kit's July Kit. I love the winter themed embellishments but to be honest I was stuck with how to use them as I didn't think I had any photo's to match and I really like using photo's i already have. After a few hints from our fearless leader, Raelene... I got it :) and I love the result. I hope you do too.

To start with I chose some photos of us having "A Lazy Day In" back in July 1997 which matches with the winter theme.

You won't often see me in photo's from back in the day but here I am 20 Years ago now at the age of 24. WOW !! How time flies.

I wanted a way to show off all the beautiful patterned paper in the July Kit without hiding them behind photos, So I chose a Grid/Block style layout.

So first I laid out the papers in a grid formation and mounted them onto Dark Brown Card-stock and then again onto a caramel/latte coloured 12x12 Card-stock.

In this block I have put my journaling and decorated it with the gorgeous white fabric flower from the kit and trimmed the bottom with the kit ribbon and the other silver snowflake charm.

I matted the photos and placed them off centre on top of the grid with some of the word accents from the kit, which I have trimmed with some ink and mounted into foam tape to bring them off the page.

The I put the title to the right of the photos as shown in the top image using some alphas I got from Kmart.

In the bottom Grids I have used the cut aparts from the Kit. This first one "Today is a Hot Chocolate Kind of Day" fit perfectly and didn't need any extra embellishment.

The next block was some gorgeous snowflake paper from the kit which I have embellished with more word accents, which I have trimmed again with Ink to lift them off the page.

Then to the far right I have used some paper I had in my stash and placed the Hot Cocoa, Cup and "Hug in a Cup" cut aparts from the kit on top.  I have also trimmed it along the bottom with the gorgeous vintage lace in the kit, which is difficult to see in this photo.

All coming together quite well in the end. And too think I had no idea when I started. See you all next month... Take Care. Lisa.

Morgyn ~ July Kit ~ Planner Layout

Hi Scrappers,

Morgyn here with a slightly different project share for you - a planner spread.  I am again using the July Scrapping Fun Kit - this kit is just so versatile.

I decided to decorate the week I am going to the snow, how perfect is this kit for a snow holiday???
I just love the little snowman sticky notes (I could have used these all over the page lol).

A little close up of the left side - I used both types of washi on the layout, then I cut down a piece of the present paper and a cute snowflake as a small embellishment cluster in the middle.

Right side of the layout - Again I used both the washi tapes to decorate then added a couple of left over pieces from my previous 2 projects (check them out A4 layout and mini cards).  The sliver star tag and present paper on 2 squares, and I fussy cut the Hot Chocolate embellishment for the bottom.  As a finishing touch I tied the silver snowflake charm to some red twine to use an a page marker.

Thanks for stopping by

Morgyn ~ July Kit ~ Hot Chocolate A4 Layout

Hi Scrappers,

Morgyn here with my 2nd project using the July Scrapping Fun kit.

The Hot Cocoa words in this kit just begged to be used for these photos of me having a hot chocolate last year.  We were going on a little family drive and decided to stop for warm drinks, my darling husband snapped a series of photos of me.

I used these a light blue 6x6 pattern paper as my photo mat, then added this neat brown tile paper behind the photo mat.  Than I got set to work on making my embellishment clusters.  In the top left I used part of the hot chocolate 3x4 card 'today is a ...' to make the start of my title.  I used the flower to cover up the other dots, so the title made sense.

Next I worked on the bottom embellishments.  I used the other part of the 3x4 card to make the end of the title 'kind of day'.  Along with the cute cup (so love this little piece) and a couple of gems.

Finally I fussy cut the Hot Cocoa words to finish off the title 'today is a ... Hot Cocoa kind of day'.
I added a little piece of washi tape and the 'hug in a mug' flag to the top right corner of the page, splatted on some brown inks and called the page done.

I don't usually scrap with brown and certainly not a whole page of it, but I really liked how this turned out, so perfect for a hot chocolate layout.  I would love it if you checked out my process video for this layout, you can view it here.

Raelene - July Kit - Winter Planner Spread

Hi Scrapping Fun Fans
With accepting Morgyn's Challenge to use each kit in my planner I created a simple spread with the July Kit.

First I made a clip with some of the Vintage Lace.

As you know Scrapping Fun Kits include something planner related in each kit, usually it is a clip but this month it is cute Snowman Sticky Notes so I knew from the moment I saw them that I would use them in my planner and with using the cute Snowman I felt using the Snowman Washi to reinforce my pages was just what the spread needed.

And finally I added a few of the snowflake sequins.

I don't usually decorate so when I do I like to keep it as simple as possible so I don't lose too much space to decoration.  I love this spread, it is so cute.

I want to record what we do in Winter to add to my Journal so I have this journal spot from the cut apart to clip into each week in Winter so that when I am reminded of something we do in Winter I can add it.

If you are loving the July Kit and would love to have one, head to the Subscription Tab and fill in the form.  There is only 1 kit left so it will be the first person to fill in the form and pays that gets this lovely kit.

Morgyn ~ July Kit ~ Winter cards

Hi Scrappers, Morgyn here with a couple of quick cards I made using this months Scrapping fun kit, you can subscribe here and get your own.

The first card is a little greeting card with a wintery theme.  I will (hopefully) be attending a Christmas in July themed party this month and this card will be perfect to attach to a secret Santa gift.  I used a small strip of the present paper and trimmed down the 3x4 filler card to make my card front.  I added 2 little bling bits to the snow flakes, then tied a piece of red ribbon to finish it off.

My next card I decided to make a birthday card for my Husband.  Despite the Christmas colours of the paper I thought it worked really well as a birthday card.  I added some twine to the silver star tag for the card front, then used Kaisercraft letter to spell out Happy Birthday + a little bit of bling to finish it off.

These cards only took about 15 minutes to complete, which I think is super quick and means there is no excuse not to give a handmade card.  If you would like to check out my process video for these you can view it here.

Lisa - July Kit - Xmas 1997

Hello everyone, and welcome to the first layout share using the July Kit. I hope you all enjoy it. Using the Christmas themed embellishments in the kit, I have decided to scrap a Xmas photo of my kids from 1997. This is the only Christmas photo I have of them in this year. I am not sure where all the others went, or even if any others were taken. But the photo just goes perfectly with the "No Peeking" tag included in the kit, so I went with it.

I started with a white piece of 12x12 cardstock. I was ging to use a red but I really wanted the embellishments to stand out. I then painted a large partial flower type design with red kaisermist ink and splattered a little around the edges.

To add some bling, I added some clear rhinestones from the kit to the splatter spots.

Using some brown patterned paper from the Francheville Kraft Christmas range, I layered the Gorgeous Kit patterned present paper on top and matted the photo onto some thick cardboard.

I used the kit snowflake die cut as another layer under the photo and coloured it red with Ink and embellished it with the Kit Diamonte's

The part I love doing is adding the embellishments. I used the Kit Ho Ho Ho Tag to the right of the photo with a bow using the Red and White twine in the kit. Beside it and in the corner of the photo I have used the gorgeous handmade flower from the kit.

The straw reminded me of a candy cane, I couldn't bend it successfully to I have used it as a flag pole with the Kit wash tape as the flag at the top then put it in the hand of the gorgeous little snowman sticky note also included in the kit.

Below the photo, I put the very appropriate "no peeking" tag included in the kit. How perfect this was with my little girl in the front covering her eyes, peeking out with one eye. Again I have used a bow of the red and white twine, a little more snowflake washi tape because I love it so much and the snowflake silver charm to top it all off.

To the right of the tag, I have used the wood veneer Christmas tree. I coloured it to add a little more green to the layout.

The title is some cardboard letters I have in my stash and I have coloured the black with the year stamped underneath.

...and finished.

I loved doing this layout in July and you can still buy some great Christmas sellout bargains in the stores to get you in the mood for December. Below is the final product. I hope you have enjoyed my blog... Take care, Lisa.
