Lauren ~ New Year's Eve 8.5x11 scrapbooking layout using January embellishment kit

Hey everyone,

Considering 2017 New Years Eve was one where we actually celebrated rather than staying at home trying to keep awake, I only have 4 random photos. Because we did go out I had plenty to document about us celebrating the new year arriving and of course the lovely January embellishment kit was perfect for this event.

I decided to make a bright and fun journaling layout rather than one that had photos to help tell the story.

I knew when unboxing the kit that there was no way I wouldn't be using the amazing handmade fireworks - so firstly I got my 8.5x11 white cardstock and laid the fireworks on top.

It was now time to utilise the great cards and embellishments in the kit to decorate and tell the story. I cut the spotty tag down to a square and topped it with firework washi, a flair, charm and some sequin stars. A lovely embellishment cluster to draw your eye into the main focus of the page - journaling.

The middle was perfect spot for the journaling card, and I used my sharpie and gold pitt pen to record the memories in summary.

The top right was made for the filler card that says "make memories"

Completing the scrapbooking layout off by purposely but randomly placing sequin stars around the journalling and filler card to accentuate the journaling.

Of course a single line gold border is what totally took the page to another level :)
Thanking you, Lauren.

Lauren ~ Traveler's Notebook Selfie - Journal layout

When I was editing the last of the photos for 2017 album I realised that I had a million (well maybe not that much...slight exaggeration haha) Selfies of myself - 2017 was the year I dyed my hair many colours of the rainbow. So I printed them in small card size on selfie with the intention to make a travelers notebook to document the year of the selfie!

Whilst filming my unboxing and how to store my Scrapping Fun TN kit I realised that this would be a perfect kit to use to document January's selfies and got straight into it. (You can check out the video of the unboxing and storage of TN kit here)

So I started by placing the photos down and the embellishments - with the intention to then journal and doodle around them. That is exactly how it went, I cut a doily in half to make big colourful and textured layer behind a photo, the other photo was grounded by a strip of washi. I also used the sticker beach ephemera and cut up cards to fit (the sun, sand and sea), as well as adding the life is better at the beach card as it was.

To complete the layout I used some asterix and dots from the alpha sticker sheet, then journalled and doodled to fill in the white spaces. It was a fun way to do a travelers notebook layout and believe I will be doing similiar again real soon.

Morgyn ~ School Kit ~ Week 4 Travellers Notebook

Hi Scrappers,
Morgyn here with my current weeks planner spread in my handmade Travellers Notebook.  I am using the School embellishment Kit to decorate this week.

I loved the rainbow star washi tape and decided to use that as inspiration for the rest of the spread.  I used them as my check boxes for both of my to-do lists.  I used the alphabet washi tape to make a little boarder above my meal planning section.

On the left side of the spread I labeled all my days of the week and dates in multiple colours - to match the star washi tape.  I used the back to school washi tape to label the first day of school for the year.  I also marked Australia day in green/yellow to keep with my multi-colouled theme.

I loved the cute apple paperclip and used it to mark the current week in my planner.  To the right of the image is all the pretty pens I used on this spread, how pretty is a rainbow of pens? :)

Sarah's Summer moodboard layout

Hello crafty friends, for this month's moodboard challenge, I loved the colours of the Summer moodboard. I did a Travellers Notebook layout for this one with a cute photo of my younger son showing off wearing his sunnies! Lets have a reminder of what the moodboard looks like;
Most of this layout was completed using the cut apart elements and cards from the December embellishment kit. I matted the photo on a crinkly, dotted paper bag I had in my stash and used a 'Happy Day' yellow frame to highlight his cheeky smile. The washi tape from the December kit is just adorable and is also featured on this layout.
To finish the layout off, I used a date stamp and some sequins to add some bling. I hope you enjoyed this layout. Until next time...

Sarah - January Kit - Happy New Year

Happy 2018 crafty friends! My layout today is in my Traveller's Notebook and it is celebrating how we saw the new year in. I am slightly addicted to the Travellers Notebook size of memory keeping at this time. I just love the ease of how a layout comes together - it doesnt need to be overly complex, and a simple layout can be just as pretty. This layout is using the January embellishment kit from Scrapping Fun Kit - be sure to get in quick if you havent gotten yours already!
I'm sure you will agree, but the handmade firework embellishments are an absolute hit from this kit. Raelene has outdone herself with these. It seemed perfect then when my husband suggested taking the boys to see the NYE fireworks....of course...perfect photo opportunity! Perhaps one of the hardest events to capture, I managed to get a few on camera for this layout. The washi tape, tags and flair are all gorgeous! I hope you enjoyed this layout....until next time!

Morgyn ~ Summer Kit ~ Travellers Notebook

Hi Scrappers,
Morgyn here with my latest Travellers Notebook scrapping layout.  I am using the Summer Travellers Notebook kit from Scrapping Fun Kits.
I took this photo of my 2 boys just the other day, while they were having a little paddle in the pool.  It was a super hot day and the temperature had got up to 41 where we live, so the cool water was most welcome for all of us late in the afternoon.

For the left side of the spread I used this green & white polka dot paper as my base - it matched the colour of the pool perfectly.  I added my title using the Alpha stickers from the kit along with a few others from my stash.  My title 'One fish, Two fish, Red fish, Blue fish' is from Dr Seuss which is one of our favourite authors to read with the kiddies.  I thought it was a perfect title for my 2 little fish.

I added some washi tape and embellishments to the bottom corner to finish off this side.

For the Right hand side of the layout I started with some painting the background with some orange/yellow Dylusions paint. Pure Sunshine is the colour name... to perfect for this layout right??
I added the summer paper piece and then my photo.
For the embellishments I used 2 bits of washi tape in the top right corner ('Monday' is from the basic's kit).  The little fish sticker was a great addition to the page and suited the title very well.
I added the date and my journaling to finish off the page.

I love how this little layout came together in about 25 minutes.  Travellers Notebook is the perfect size for documenting the little things quickly and easily, plus the Scrapping Fun Kits are so well coordinated it makes it even easier! Subscribe to get your own here.

I have a process video up on my channel if you would like to see how I put this together.

Lisa - Summer Mood Board - Tag Set

It's time for the summer mood board challenge. Everyone loves summer and this mood board goes to well with the Scrapping Fun December Kit that I have used these embellishments along with items from my stash to make a "Fun in the Sun" tag set.

This tag set is a set of three. I started with all the tags together and did them all at the same time, making them flow from one to the other. My vision is to use them all in the one layout and have photos of my step-son in the pool already picked out.

I started with 4"x3" white cardstock. Trimmed top and bottom with this great summer washi tape from the December Kit. Then I cut the corners at the top of the cardstock on each tag, punched a hole in each and tied some blue raffia from the kit on each.

I have layered some paper in the background and a strip of striped paper from the kit through the middle. Along the bottom, I have used the blue gems from the Kit and then bordered the sides with the crotcheted leaves also from the December Kit.

Filling the Centre of each tag with Embellishments from both my stash and the kit, I have made a very Summer Inspired tropical themed Tag Set.

I often find myself making tags but never using them in layouts, which is a shame. So, I hope to make my layout using these tags very soon and will update this blog with the finished product.

UPDATE: As promised here is the layout I used the tags on, I also used the Scrapping Fun December Embellishment Kit to do this layout with a couple of papers from my stash.

Lisa - January Kit - New Years Eve '96

Welcome to 2018 !!! This is my first layout for the year using the New Years themed January Embellishment Kit from Scrapping Fun Kits.

As I am usually asleep by midnight on New Year's Eve (I know... Party Pooper LOL)I have chosen some photos taken back in 1996 on New Year's Eve. Amazingly the colours in these old photo's matched so well with the Kit.

What an awesome piece of chipboard that came with the kit. I coloured it by putting an undercoat of Gesso. Then some Antique Gold Kaisermist and to finish it off I dabbed a gold stamp pad over the top.

I have used the Gold Stars from the Kit to embellish around the chipboard and the gold 96 is from my stash.

The Kit includes some gorgeous patterned paper which I have used as layers under the 4"x2.5" photos which I matted onto white cardstock.

A simple Embellishment cluster using all items from the Kit and 97 alphas from my stash to bring in the new year.

Now, this is my favourite part, those handmade firework flowers are just to die for. They add such an impact to the page and give it great dimension too. A+ for making these Raelene.

I hope you enjoy creating with this embellishment kit as much as I did.

Morgyn ~ Summer Kit ~ Moodboard

Hi Scrappers,

Morgyn here with my take on the moodboard challenge (pictures below). You can find all the information on how to enter here.

I have once again gone with a travellers notebook spread for my layout - this is my favourite size to scrap with at the moment. I have used the current Summer kit for my layout .

I used this fun paper as my background piece and added just a couple of embellishments from the summer kit. The t-shirt sticker said Fun in the sun so I cut a sun piece of washi tape from the basics kit and added it to the shirt I also used the number 25 from the basics kit to add the date.
I really liked the rainbow gradient word from the moodboard and it was inspiration for my title.  The fun multicoloured alpha set that came in the summer TN kit was perfect for this.

I printed a film strip of 3 photos from our day at Dreamworld making sure to use the photo of Sam eating his giant rainbow ice cream.... just so I could use the super cute Watercolour ice cream washi tape.   Adding in a couple more little embellishments and calling this one done, nice and simple today.

Morgyn ~ New Year Planner Layout ~ Embellishment kit

Hi Scrappers

Happy New Year!!

Morgyn here with the first blog post of 2018 WOOHOO!!
I am starting off the year by sharing my week 1 planner spread using this months Scrapping Fun embellishment kit.

I am using a travellers notebook that I printed and made myself this year as my weekly planner, you can see how I made it here.

On the left hand side I used the dark purple firework washi tape as a border on the top of the page.     I also used the super cute tassel clip to mark this page in my planner.  I used Staedtler Triplus Fineliner (purple) to add the days of the week and the dates to my page.

On the right hand side I used this super cute multicoloured firework washi tape to make a border on the bottom of the page.  I added in a meals section and to do list (I must have in all my planners) with my Fineliner pen also.

That's all for this weeks spread you can purchase your own kits here.

Kraft Plus Challenge - Wake Up And Smell The Inspiration

Check out this awesome Caffeine Hit Moodboard  for January's moodboard for Kraft plus Challenge. As Scrapping Fun Kits is a sponsor this month I got to make a layout using this moodboard.

Now this was a fun challenge - I dont drink coffee and I have never used kraft cardstock as the background, so I had to think about it before creating lol. I think this overthinking hindered the process because I made a layout that I was unhappy with ...surprisingly only using watercolour paints and a photo....

Starting again produced this amazing layout (even if I do say so myself hehe)

I found this photo of my eldest son having his first cup of tea - hence the bed hair hehe. I grabbed a English breakfast teabag out of the cupboard and boiled the kettle to get the creative juices flowing. I used the teabag to splat colour onto the background - like mixed media packaging technique (without the packaging). This was inspired the top photo in the moodboard with the coffee split on the table and boy was it cool to see how well the splatters appeared on the page in a very organic manner.

Whilst I waited for these tea splatters to dry I focused on layering my photo. I cut the photo down to 4x4 size and added some book paper behind, mostly to the left and then kraft paper bag in two layers around the photo. This was positioned so the the text paper was showing more on the left and kraft more to right, top and bottom of the photo. I added fun foam to the bag to lift it from the background and was thinking it was done but boy was I wrong.

I grabbed a white doily and laid it flat on the background and then the raised photo and layers on top, this gave nice depth to the layers rather than them all being lifted or level on the layout. I added the small brown/creme doily to break up the whiteness that the doily brought to the photo cluster.

I had brillant idea to add the teabag label and string to top of the photo as an embellishment and it worked as well as I imagined :) I added the red label to bottom right of photo to balance that pop of red.
You can check out the close up photo of the photo cluster.

Now I could see that the layout was coming to a complete state, and rummaged around in my thickers box and pulled out these fun white thickers and made the title (inspired by the moodboard) and used thick white uniball pen to scripty write the last word of the title to made it formal and casual altogether - bringing the layout to cohesive state.

I added some white ink splatters with a paint pen and called it done. Then I remembered the wood veneer tea cups I had started with and added them in three clusters, as well as doodley border with uniball pen again - to complete the design.

Raelene - White with 1 January Challenge

I am so excited to be sponsoring White with 1 for all of 2018.
As a sponsor I get to be a Guest Designer so today I have a layout for you for the White with 1 January Challenge.

As my kits are often more than 1 colour I went through all my kit supplies for previous kits and upcoming kits to find some goodies to use for this colour prompt, so you get a sneak peek of some supplies that won't feature in kits until Winter 2018.

I have a Processing Video for you.

I started by placing the embellishments and papers from my stash that would suit on my desk to  inspire me and found a photo that would work with the supplies, I also pulled out a stamp that would coordinate with the gorgeous butterfly washi and a ink pad that would suit this colour prompt.

How gorgeous is the washi and lace that will be in a upcoming TN and/or Embellishment kit? (The gorgeous butterfly washi wound up in the May Fundraising Kit)
And that flower that will be in a upcoming embellishment kit is so cute.

I decided on  a TN layout as I am loving how quick they are to  put together  and  I love the size, however my insert has cream paper so I had to cover it with some white paper, I just used normal printer paper.

I have loved creating for this month's White with 1 Challenge and I hope to see you  join me in entering.
The prize from Scrapping Fun Kits this month is one of our sold out December kits, if a subscriber wins who already has the kit I will exchange the kit for a shop credit.

I look forward to seeing what you create so please let me know if you enter.

I have one space left for the January kit so if you would like to subscribe head to the Subscription Tab and fill in the form.
