Raelene Neon Kit - Pensive

Hello Scrapping Fun Kits Fans.
Raelene here with my final layout using the Exclusive Neon Kit.  I still have a few little bits left to use on another project down the track, which is great.

First I played with the Green Felt Floral Ribbon Sample to see where on the page it would best suit my needs.  I knew I wanted the Black Chiffon Flower at the bottom of the Felt Ribbon so I had that on my page as well.

Here is one of the ways it could be used, though I went with a different position.

I love this gorgeous purple marbled paper, I scored it for 20 cents at a sale.  I bought multiple sheets as I love it so much.

Once that decision was made it was time to play with layers.

When I wanted some butterflies punched from my paper scrap from the kit for my Hugs layout  I punched them out so that I would still have a small usable piece for layering in a future layout if needed, so I was glad I did this as I needed this piece for my this layout.

Locked in that final position for the Felt Ribbon and added a couple of layers using scraps.
I also made a Wire Half Flower.

The photo I used was one I found in a box that was damaged as it seems it was glued into something and then pulled out.  It is one my daughter took with her webcam in her mid teens and I thought should looked very deep in thought so titled it Pensive.  The Alphas in the kit had little flowers so I added 2 of these to the layouts with my embellishment clusters to pull a aspect of the title into other parts of the layout for balance.

Raelene Neon Kit - Beautiful

Hello Scrapping Fun Kits Fans
Raelene here with a layout using the offcut from the chipboard in the Exclusive Neon Kit.

When I popped out the Dusty Attic Chipboard it struck me that you could tell that it said Beautiful so I saved it to use later.

As I was playing with my supplies I realised that the supplies that would best suit this layout were supplies from my Counterfeit Kit Challenge March Kit, I am Guest Designer for this great challenge this month so it was good to get another layout out of my kit.

I experiemented with colouring the chipboard, first with gelatos, which was so pretty but not right for my layout so I painted it with teal paint.

I cut up the part that would wind up under the glasses paper to place it under the paper in 5 places so it would be at the correct height.
The photo shows 4 but I cut the one that would be in the top right corner in half so I would have a piece for the middle.

I added some of the teal paint with some bubble wrap, covering the main part of my layout with paper so only a little went on it.
I added a strip of the camera paper down the side as I wasn't happy with the results of the paint on that side.
I decided a couple of days after finishing the layout to add some shimmer to my chipboard, unfortunatly it didn't turn out how I wanted but I decided to stop trying to fix my layout and embrace it.

Raelene Neon Kit - Hugs

Hi Scrapping Fun fans,
Raelene here with another layout using the Exclusive Neon Kit.  For this layout I used the 2 papers that came in the kit and the Neon Pink Felt Bow.

There is no process video as this was a craft as I go scrap, where I spent a few moments on it here and there over 2 or 3 days, just fiddling until I had something I loved.  Sometimes when I am having a creative block I find it helps to leave supplies I want to use on my desk and play for a bit and they walk away and return later with a fresh mind, sometimes I will just need to do this once but occassionaly I need to do it multiple times over a few days.

Looking for photos to use with this kit I found this photo of a very serious looking Mr E (aka he is not a morning person) hugging Miss C the weekend of her baby shower, Mr E is a hugger and he stumbled out of bed to give his big sister cuddles.  I thought with her pink hair and his blue pajama shirt this would be a great photo to use with the kit.

As I played with the bits I knew I wanted a background but I didn't want to go too busy with layers in the background as it was going to be a very bright layout, so I just used the bubble wrap technique with some blue and pink paint.

Just put some blobs of paint on a craft sheets, grab a scrap off bubble wrap and press it into the paint, then place it on your cardstock and press down, repeat until you have the effect your desire.

I cut the middle out of the papers from the kit so I would have some small scraps for another layout and this was fortunate as when I was adhering the wire half flower I made under the big flower from the cut apart Morgyn designed, whic I used watered down pink paint to colour.
The wire half flower caused some issues with the flower so I punched out a butterfly from one of the scraps and a butterfly from the blue cardsock I used when matting my photos and created a layered butterfly to hide the mistake,  I punched out 2 more butterflies from the scraps to add to the page to balance things out.

I won a $10 store credit with Charms Creations and my gorgeous hearts and tabs I got with my store credit arrived just in time for this layout so I was able to include the heart in the cluster above with the flower from Morgyn's cut apart and this cute tab at the top of my layout.

I also got out some tiny words from Studio fourteen 40 and added 3 of them to my layout.

I used the blue paint on the big butterfly from Morgyn's cut apart.
This was a layout that as I worked on it I did not like how it was turning out but the more I worked on it and added bits and just played and stopped thinking about if I like it the more I loved it and in the end I was happy with how it turned out.

I finished off with some black ink splatters balance things out a bit more.

Tracey - Neon Kit - Beach Bums

Hey everybody! It's Tracey here! I've got another neon kit layout for you, I managed to KILL this kit I loved it so much. My last layout is 'Beach Bums', enjoy!

Recently, I have rediscovered my absolute admiration for stamps, I also love the look of messy mixed media, so, can you guess what my favourite stamp is? A paint splatter stamp.  I purchased this stamp set from Close to My Heart and I haven't really used it much, after this layout I know I definitely will be giving it more of the attention that it deserves!

To begin my layout I randomly stamped a mix of the splatter stamps in an assortment of different colours from Close to my Heart. I tried to keep the colours away from each other and tried to spread out each individual stamp design. I adore the look that this creates, a simple, clean but effective background.

I then went through my scraps and pulled out a mix of pink, blue yellow and purple off cuts to use for some layers, I wanted to continue the messy feel of the layout so I made sure that my layers weren't all the same size and didn't always cover the photo.

I then started to have a dig into what was left of the exclusive neon kit, a pink felt bow, two orange ribbon roses, the tiniest little bit of washi, some green floral felt and an orange heart paperclip. I glued the bow and roses to the top left corner of the photo and placed the washi underneath to help even out the big pink layer that was sticking out from the right hand side.  I then attached the heart paper clip to the bottom left of the photo and added my title in pink Kaisercraft alphas.

I later outlined the white cardstock in a hot pink fine liner to pull the layout together.

Don't forget, our first monthly kit is released APRIL 1ST!!

Lisa Neon Kit - Play With Me

Today I have my second layout from the exclusive Neon Kit to share with you. I didn't think I had enough embellishments left to make another layout but I certainly did. I have also used the tag that I made in the Neon - Be You Neon Fun blog post. It's been a long time since I have used a tag in a layout.

I was so excited about this layout that I forgot to take photos along the way 😏. I didn't have any Neon papers in my stash so I started with a white background and have used a Pink Kaisercraft Ink pad and Lime Green Kaisercraft Mist to add some colour and texture to the background.

The photo's I chose have my daughters in yellow & pink dresses, these were taken back in 1996 and I trimmed them down to 4x5 each. I have not used a mount and just placed a piece of neon yellow card taped on with the Kit Washi Tape behind the photos. The beautiful Neon Lime Green flower trim really adds a feminine touch to the brightness of the page.

It's been a long time since I have used a tag in a layout. Since "deconstructing" things seems all the rage now 😁I decided to deconstruct my tag to work it in with the layout and use the whole tag.

This is the top of the tag where I have removed the pink butterfly to bring it to the front of the layout so it wasn't hiding behind the photo.

Then I took the bottom half of the tag and have used it in the bottom left corner of the layout to balance the page. I have decreased the size of the black rose to reveal more of the alpha background and added a small flag for journaling. This journal flag is the off cuts from the arrow I used in the title.

The title is my favourite part of this layout. I was trying to colour the alphas that I was going to use for the word "WITH", however the mist did not stick to the alphas 😔 When I removed the alphas from the scrap card I used I was left with this 😊. Cut into an arrow shape and trimmed with Pink Ink my title was complete.

This is my completed layout. I love the bright Neon colours, they are so much fun and really bring life to these otherwise ordinary photo's. This is one of the reasons I love scrapbooking so much, rather than just viewing these photos in a plain album, these layouts give life & emotion to our memories.

Tracey - Neon Kit - Just Be Brave

Okay, I'll have to admit, this is not my best work and I'm really not loving this page, but hey, you know what? We learn from mistakes.

I'm not sure why but I'm going through a bit of a phase of mounting my layouts to cardstock, anybody else doing this regularly too? I began this layout knowing that I wanted a girly photo so I could use the flowers and hearts, so I first chose my photo and then chose a HEAP of layers from my scraps as my photo mount. Once i had stuck them all down i got some trusty old white KaiserCraft cardstock, trimmed off the edges and mounted it on pink KaiserCraft cardtstock.  I then followed through with some ink splatters using the Orange and Pink KaiserCraft mists. I stuck my photo and the crazy amount of layers and started to pick my embellishments.

I started to think that I was wanting to have a horizontal line of focus for this layout, so I added my title 'Just be Brave' which is a Pink Fresh Studio Puffy sticker. To me, it looked as if the title was floating so I stuck a strip of the very fun kit washi underneath to help ground it.  I was starting to think that this could be a good place for an embellishment cluster, so I looked at the remaining kit supplies and chose some enamel shapes and the colourful heart to stick next to the title.

Because I was running a horizontal line of focus with this layout, i made my second embellishment cluster on the left hand side at the bottom on the photo, I used two flowers from the kit- the tiny little orange ribbon rose and the large black material rose, I also used the last colourful heart (which I LOVE!), the yellow paper clip heart, and enamel shape and a puffy heart sticker which the kit did not include.

This is where my layout goes sour, it would have been fine if I had stopped but no, my brain said more.  I chose to stick the word 'beautiful' with the kits dazzling letter stickers across the top of the photo, it sounded like a good idea at the time! The black is far too heavy to have up so high on the layout and it competes with the layouts title, but like I said earlier, we learn from our mistakes.

Tracey Neon Kit - Believe

Tracey here with a layout using the Exclusive Neon Kit.

I started off using Kaisercraft Peach Mist, I sprayed this on a piece of plastic and smudged it all over white cardstock - this is called the packaging technique.  I then used Tim Holtz Pickeled Raspberry Distress Spray Stain and gave the background a few splatters.  I then decided to trim down my cardstock and mounted it  on black to ground the  page.

I then taped the fun black neon paper to the layout and used this as a layer to stick out from my photo.  In my scrap pile I pulled out some papers that featured some of the colours that were in the black neon paper and layered them behind my photo.

I love the fabulous kit washi in the kit so I used a strip along the bottom after I had placed the title 'Believe" which is a Pink Fresh Studeio Puffy Stickker.  I added a pink butterfly from the Exclusive Neon Kit above my page and some of the Enamel Shapes from the kit and some Pink Fresh Studio Puffy Hearts.

Most of my layouts tend to pull the eye in a certain direction which is usually diagonal.  I have my main focus point in the bottom right hand cornner so I felt like the top left hand corner needed a little bit of love, I chose to put a little strip of washi there along with the colourful heart and the orange dot from Pink Fresh Studio that was in the kit in this corner because it drew up some of the colours from teh layered papers to that corner.  I felt that it needed a little more so I placed some Pink Fresh Studio Puffy Hearts that matched the kit colours in the same corner.

I hope you enjoyed this layout.

Raelene Neon Kit - Getting my Planner Groove back

I lost my Planner Groove last year and I really need my planner to work for me as having Dyspraxia, EDS & Fibro if my planner isn't working for me then I forget things so I stepped back to the inserts that worked best for my from Jen on her blog Organised Lifestyle back in 2014.  I rarely decorate my planner inserts however my printer is being tempramental and printed lines where there shouldn't be lines so I used the washi from the Neon kit and a couple of thin neon washi from my stash to hide this.  And added some decoration using the fun hearts from the kit.

I dated my inserts with incorrect dates so the printable Morgyn created for this kit came in very handy as they covered my errors so I could date them correctly.

I have used a highlighter to mark the time between school runs so I can quickly see the chunk of time and plan it out each day.
Highlighters were the perfect thing to use with the Neon kit.

Now to finish planning out my week.

Morgyn - Neon Kit - Planner Divider

Hi everyone,

Morgyn here with a quick share for you all, using our exclusive neon kit!

I wanted to do something a little different this time so I created a planner divider and I just love it!!

Here is my finished product:

Now for a look at my process:

First I cut down some white card-stock so it would fit in my planner.  Then i used the stickers from the kit to create my background - this is a great technique for using up left over Thickers.

I covered the letter stickers in 2 layers of Gesso (letting in dry in between each layer).  This gave me a great foundation to add my colours.

I used some Dina Wakley - Heavy Body Acrylic paint (Tangerine) mixed with some gold glitter powder.  This colour worked perfectly with the Neon kit.

After letting that dry (there was a lot of drying time in this project), I added some extra colour to the corners using my Gelato's (Red and dark pink) to give a bit of a gradient effect.  I dabbed the end of the Gelato in a splash of water and just rubbed it on - smoothing it out with my fingers.

Then came time to embellish.  I used a bunch of goodies from the kit along with a couple of cut apart pieces I made.  Totally loved how this turned out.

Have a great scrappy day

Morgyn xx
