June Kit - A touch of Vintage

Hello Everyone, I am Shay and I  am delighted to be pat of the Scrapping Fun Kits design team. Welcome to my first layout, and oh boy am I a bundle of nerves!

This June kits was totally something I would not usually use but, when I got a sneak peak of what was in it, I was super excited as it reminded me of my parent's wedding, visions of the beautiful shades of pink and floral patterns, swirled in my head of a layout that called for the black and white picture to be scrapped. My mum had her bridesmaids and flower girls wearing pink. I think this kit was made for it!

I Started by finding some background paper that had some floral design on it and the page used was a perfect match for the June kit. Up the right hand corner I placed the paper doily from the kit and then added the metal embellishment that added a touch of art deco/vintage feel to the layout. I then added the beautiful handmade and coloured flower, used two floral buttons ( you can just see one peeking out) an the bonus flower that come in the kit.

The bottom left corner was decorated with the ribbon, then I used Tim Holtz sugar spun distress ink ink to colour the large heart, and then clear embossed them to give them that little bit of shimmer. The two little heart were coloured using Hero arts ombre pink ink pad and the clear embossing powder again.  I used the bonus ribbon to frame the corners of the picture in the top right hand corner and bottom left hand corner of the pictures tying it in more to the corner embellishments.

I glued everything down and then I decided it needed a bit more. I ended up punching out boarders from a Martha Stewart punch I have, A bit of negotiating to get the side of the pictures back up I managed to get my boarder on and re-glued to the page.  I ended up inking the edges of the paper doily with the spun sugar.  "Boho" Thickers were used to complete the title in black glitter.

Thank you all so much for reading my first every blog post!
