Lisa - May Kit - You're the Best Card

Hello, I thought I would change it up today and do a card. I have loved making card since I was a child. My mum told me the other day, she has always loved my handmade cards they have just got a bit fancier now 😂

I have used some old Kodak 6x4 photo paper, that I found at the Op (Thrift) Shop for the white base.

The title was cut using my old original Cricut which I have mounted on a hanging flag of the Kit washi using the Kit Straw as the flag pole. I had some twine in my stash to fill the gap and add some more texture.

Across the bottom of the card I use a sea of the Kit Sequins & Beads, which I have adhered by painting PVA Glue across the bottom and sprinkling the Sequins & beads over it.

The left over layer of the Kits Handmade flower made a great base for a Red Flower I had in my stash along with a cork XO Circle Sentiment in the Middle.

I then mounted the the white 6x4 photo paper onto Black card and then again mounted that onto a White 5x7 Card a little off centre.

I Hope you have enjoyed my Card using the Scrapping Fun Kits - May Embellishment Kit. I am only new to card making so hope to do more of these in the future.

Now to find someone to give it to :)

Tracey- love you- May kit

Hey scrappers! I'm back today with another layout from the May kit, once again, a fairly simple layout.

I started off with black cardstock from Kaisercraft, I chose to mount my photo on a piece of the papers that we all received in our kits, for more interest, I layered two other pieces of kit paper under the photo.

My bottom cluster is my absolute favourite part of this layout because of its masculine flower that was hand made by the wonderful Raelene. I think she's done a wonderful job and making something so feminine appear to be so grungy and 'boyish'.  I used that as my centre piece in this cluster, I tucked one of the kits epoxy flairs under the flower to help make it look less lonely. I then used some of the wooden stars and sequins that were also a part of the kit to help fill in the cluster.  I felt as if I needed a base for my cluster seeing as it was quite large and it was on a dark background so I cut a part of the straw that we all received and glued it under everything.

I then proceeded to add another cluster in the top left hand corner of the page. I used the left over piece of straw to help tie everything in and I then added some of the sample washi tape which I also loved from the kit.  The washi acts like a grounding place for the 'sweet heart' sticker that I used as well as the other tiny word stickers in that corner. To finish off that cluster I added some of the sequins that I had used at the bottom.

At this stage, I was thinking that my bottom cluster was looking a little plain so I just added some more tiny word stickers and then added my title, 'love you'.

I hope that you enjoyed today's post and I hope that your loving your May kits!

Morgyn ~ May Kit ~ Fathers Day Card

Hi scrappers,

Morgyn here with a quick Fathers day card using the May Scrapping Fun kit.

This was my 3rd project created using the May kit - and I still have lots of bits left over (special project coming up in the next couple of months - keep an eye out)

I know Fathers day isn't until September (here in Australia) but it's always nice to have cards on hand rather than rushing at the last minute.

First I used 2 of the patterned papers to create my background - none of my pieces were big enough to cover the whole card.  I added the twine in between the pieces where there was a little gap.

Next I ran the black piece of paper through my big shot with an alpha die to spell out Happy fathers day. I stuck these down then got started on my embellishments.  A strip of washi tape with a metal gear in the top corner - I filled the middle of the gear with some of the mini seed beads.

Lastly I added a couple of washi strips (from my stash) and layered a few sequins together in the bottom corner.  This was such a simple card to create and I really LOVE the way it turned out.  Hopefully one of the fathers (probably my husband) will enjoy this come September.

As always I have a process video up for this card, I would love you to check it out.
You can find it HERE.

Have a great scrappy day

Morgyn ~ May Kit ~ My reads

Morgyn here sharing another mini spread in my Travellers notebook.

I am trying to document some of my favourite things throughout the year in this little notebook, I have found the Scrapping Fun Kits as perfect to accent my pages.

This month I am documenting 'My Reads' - these are my favourite series of books. I have read the first 3 at least 2-3 times and always seem to read something new. The Series is The Bronze Horseman by Paulina Simons.

The blues in this kit match almost perfectly with the colours in the book covers.

First I created a background with some stamps (background stamps from Stampin' Up!) and ink. Then layed down a couple of washi tape pieces and used some kit papers to back behind my photo.

After adding my photo I worked on my embellishment clusters.  With a small space to work with in a Travellers notebook, my clusters are rather minimal - sequins in top and bottom corners, then a cluster of paper flower, metal gear and flair to the top right of the photo.

Finally I added a title using an alpha stamp set.  I try to keep these layouts quick and simple to create.

If you would like to watch my process video of this spread you can check it out here.

Thanks for stopping by

Lisa - May Kit - 8teen

Today I have a Layout for you using the May Embellishment Kit from Scrapping Fun Kits.

I wanted a rough teenage look and so I distressed the edges of 11x11 white card with Orange and Black ink and mounted it onto 12x12 Black Striped patterned paper that I had in my stash.

I then splattered some orange ink in random places.

I mounted the photo onto orange cardstock and then layered the kit patterned paper underneath. Distressing the edges in black so it would pop from the white background.

The Gorgeous Cogs from the Kit made a great embellishment cluster along the left side of the photo.

I used the Kit Epoxy Flairs and Round Paper Clip across the top coupled with some circle patterned paper punches from my stash

I also added a layer of triangle to the top to go with the circles and geometric patterns on the Kit patterned paper.

To the right I used some Chipboard Alpha Tiles in my son's initials, this is also the nickname he started using in his teens.

Along the bottom of the photo I have added some more geometric shapes using the Kit Patterned paper

The Title is using a mixture of fonts with chipboard and stickers which I have coloured a dark brown to blend.

To add a bit of interest I have used both numbers and letters to combine the theme of Teen and being 18.

Below is the complete layout. I really love the Circles and Geometric shapes in this layout giving it an edgy teen look.

Tracey- May Kit - Beautiful Boy

Hey everybody! Tracey here again with another May kit layout.  I forgot to take prrogress photos for this one so I apologise in advance.

I started my layout off with the Sea Breeze (I think) cardstock from Kaisercraft.  I knew that I wanted this layout to be quite simple so that the contrast of the background and the patterned paper would be a main feature of the layout. I then cut my photo down and stuck it down to the ack and white cross paper that was included in the kit. I kept this mat quite large because I felt as if it were small, the layout would look to bare.

I then used a blue die cut doily from my stash as a mount for the metal flower. For the flowers centre, I threaded through some of the blue and white bakers twine and tied it in a not to close it. I glued that down to the die cut and then stuck that down with doubled sided tape.

I decided to go for a horizontal line of focus, I trimmed a piece off the black and white spot paper from the kit and made that the mount for my cluster, I also used a piece of washi tape from the kit as a mount for my journaling card.  This months kit included a great swirl paper clip and some black metal roses which I adhered to the journaling card.

I then chose my title, Beautiful Boy. I used the 'beautiful' die cut from Kaisercraft and black letter stickers from my stash and added some gold splatters, wooden stars and a black metal flower.

I hope that you are all enjoying your May kits! Do't forget to share your work with us on the Scrapping Fun Inspiration Group on Facebook.

Raelene - May Kit - Ouch

Hi Scrapping Fun Fans.
Raelene with you today sharing my layout OUCH using the May Kit.

A prompt in a magazine last year had me fill a word doc with a few stories, this story was one of them, the journaling and photo have been on my desk for some time just waiting for the right layout.

I used the same light grey cardstock for my background as I did with my layout Brothers.
Adding layers with some of the papers from the kit and the washi.
I mounted my photo and journaling on black cardstock so it would pop.

The washi in the kit was great for adding some more layers to the layout.

I added some of the washi to the top right corner to help balance things out and ground the gears.

Cogs and Gears are one of my favourite embellishments.

It is important to scrap the memories we otherwise would avoid in our albums as they aren't happy.

Why don't you sit down and type up a few stories you haven't told in your albums and maybe scrap some of them.

The May Kits have sold out and there are only a couple of June Kits left so if you haven't ordered a June Kit yet make sure you head to the Subscription Tab at Scrapping Fun Kits Blog and order one asap.

Morgyn - May Kit - I need a title??

Hi everyone Morgyn here with a 12x12 layout using the fabulous May kit.

As soon as I got this kit I knew exactly which photos I wanted to use with it.  I have had these photos sitting in my pile waiting to be scrapped for a while and the colours work perfectly with the May kit.

Sam grabbed my phone one day (during afternoon tea - hence the carrot in his mouth hehe), he started snapping a bunch of selfies of all his crazy faces - these were the top 6 from about 30.

When creating this layout I started by mounting the photo strips (I created these with the PicFrame app for Iphone) on to black cardstock and trimming around the edge to match the photos. Then I layered the patterned paper from the kit behind the photo.

Next I started on my embellishment clusters - this one is to the left of the photo strips and uses lots of fun elements from the kit. Wooden stars, sequins and the super cute metal flower (I love these).  I also added a small strip of black/white stripe washi tape for a bit of contrast.

I then added a piece of the straw to the middle of the photos (I cut it in half length ways so it wasn't too bulky). For my second embellishment cluster I used the beautiful metal flower and added a flair to the middle of it, plus a couple of little sequins to bring the blue/green colour across the layout.

To finish off the page I added a small cluster of washi tape and a metal gear to the top left of the page, then added some paint splatters and sequins over the page.

Now when I was editing my process video (you can view it here) for this layout I realised I had never added a title, so my question to you all is - what title should I give this layout?? Leave your comments below.

Happy Scrapping

Morgyn xx

Lisa - May Kit - Boy to Man

Hello everyone and welcome to my first project using the Scrapping Fun May embellishment kit.

This kit is great for those male layouts and today I have decided to do a layout of my Son when he was a teenager.

Boy 2 Man is the title I chose for he was 17 years old and moving into manhood 😁

I started this layout with some Gesso on the embossed Bazzill cardstock as an undercoat for hessian from my stash to go on top of. Then a little more Gesso on top just to bring it through the hessian

I then used the gorgeous cardstock from the kit as well as some embossed cardstock from my stash to mat the photo on and add a layered affect.

I used the 2 filigree flowers as a base for the handmade flower. As I needed 2 handmade flowers, I split it in half and created 2 with a matching brad & button I had in my stash.

I placed one in the top left corner of the photo and the other to the bottom right of the photo, balancing yet creating an extension.

Embellishing the right side of the photo with the Kit Bakers Twine and extending around the flower with the Kit Wood Veneer stars. I used half the Kit Straw on the top of the photo

The kit sequins, beads and stars were a great addition and I used these to give a bit of shine to the hessian above and below the photo. Then to top it all off a little flag under the photo for journalling/info and some washi across the bottom.

I hope you enjoy the completed layout and I look forward to bringing you another, using the Scrapping Fun May Kit soon.

Tracey- May Kit- Forever Grateful

Hey Scrappers! How are you all loving your May kits? I can tell you that I LOVED this kit because of how 'boyish' it was. This was a SUPER quick layout of my gorgeous son.

I pulled out a sheet of black cardstock and then trimmed it to 11x11 (I think) and some patterned paper with small blue roses on it, I use this to back the black cardstock.  I then used another sheet of patterned paper as a large base for my photo. I mounted the photo on a cream cardstock.

I then used my Kaisercraft cog dies to cut out an assortment of brown cogs to use as my embellishments. I also used some wooded cogs which are by Kaisercraft. In this months kit, we were given some metal cogs which I loved- I scattered the 3 types of cogs in a diagonal line across the page.

At this stage I was pretty happy with my embellishments so I added my title using brown letter stickers and a die from Kaisercraft.

That's all for this layout but keep your eyes open for some more layouts by our other DT members!

Raelene - May Kit - Brothers

Hello Scrapping Fun Fans.
Raelene with your Today, sharing my first layout using the May Kit.

Apologies that this post is late, I decided last night to add more to my finished layout and so this morning I had to take a new photo of the layout and do a new voice over on my Video.

I love these embellisments.  The filigree flower is just gorgeous and the wood veneer stars are so cute.

I added a cute photo of the boys from 7 years ago hugging on Mr C's first day of school to the top right corner last night as I felt the page needed more.
I used a scrap of the star paper and scraps from the papers used on my other layout to add the photo in the right corner.
I also added 2 extra wood veneer stars from my stash.

There are only 2 May kits left so if you haven't ordered one yet make sure you head to the Subscription Tab and order one asap.
