Morgyn ~ Twinkle Twinkle ~ A4 layout

Hi Scrappers,

Morgyn here sharing my latest project using this months Scrapping Fun Kit .

This month we had a music themed kit, I was struggling to choose a photo to scrap with this kit.  As I was scrolling through my camera roll I found this little beauty of my little man napping and decided I had to use it.  Usually in the middle of the night the first song that comes into my head is Twinkle Twinkle, so it was totally perfect for this kit layout.

I cut down a large piece of wrapping paper to A4 size and glued it down to a piece of cardstock to create my background piece.  Then I started working on my photo mat, I used 2 pieces of scrap paper from my stash followed by the spotty piece from the kit.

I really wanted to use the chipboard piece of this layout as it was so pretty.  First off I painted it blue then decided I wanted it gold/yellow, so I mixed a splash of yellow into some white paint and covered the chipboard.  After that I found my pot of Inka Gold and spread that over the top.

I made an embellishment cluster using a flair badge, paper rose and metal flower along with some of the music note washi.  I created my title using some kraft/black alpha stickers from Kaisercraft.

I finished it off with a hand drawn boarder around the outside of the page and called it done.
I love how this little layout came together with this sweet photo.

If you would like to watch my process video of this layout you can check it out here.

Music Concert - August Kit with Sarah Rosse

Hello crafty friends, Sarah here with the musically delightful August kit. Raelene defintely has outdone herself with this one! I have this one layout to share with you but must say I have so many additional bits and pieces left over from the kit that there are many more to make. The use of this kit is so verstaile - from school music concert pics, to your little girl's ballet class, to layouts and pocket pages about your favorite songs and music lyrics!

The photo in this layout was taken back in June at the school end of term music concert. With the theme being 'rock stars', the concert was to farewell the ever-popular music teacher Mr Smith. One of my son's teachers dressed up as Elvis and I happened to snap this shot with that funny hair wig making an appearance (it wasn't even his!). To pick up some of the colours in the wig, I used a piece of cardstock that had some left over paint on - a nice compliment to the black and white elements of the kit.

The scalloped lace piece was adhered to the bottom of the layout, topped with one of the washi tape from the kit (still two others to use up!). The photo was matted using the three mats provided in the kit and adhered down.
The chipboard piece by Memory maze laser cuts was stamped using black ink and then I applied clear embossing powder over the top. Heated the powder with my heat tool and I think it looks fabulous! The lovely thing about having raw chipboard is you can ink it, heat emboss it, paint it, colour it or just leave it plain.
Lastly the layout was embellished with the gorgeous silver music notes, strips of black and silver bling, epoxy button and that adorable musical bow paper clip. The title word 'music' was a DT bonus and the 'concert' stickers were from my stash.
I hope you enjoyed this layout and I look forward to bringing you another project very soon...September is almost here!

Morgyn ~ August Kit ~ Favourite Song Travellers Notebook

Hi Scrappers,

Sharing a little layout I created in my Travellers notebook.  I am using my August Scrapping Fun kit, which was a music theme kit.  As I am using my TN (travellers notebook) to document bits an pieces of my life this year (favourite things and current likes etc.).  This kit was just perfect for documenting what I am listening to right now.

The base of my page is pink paint (left over from a previous project) which I laid down with a roller. I love adding left over paint/texture paste etc. from projects to new pages. It makes it nice and easy to create a new page and no waste :)

I used some tiny letter stickers from Kaisercraft for my title, along with a silver glitter music die cut (a Design team bonus with this kit).

I adhered the lace to the bottom of the page and started layering my photo on to some of the music paper from the kit.  Next I added one of the flair's and a few little gems to the corner of the photo.  I finished off the page by doodling around the page edge with black pen.

This was a nice easy little layout to complete and I never imagined I would scrap a photo of someone from One Direction - but here it is.  If you would like to watch my process video for this layout you can check it out here.

Raelene - August Kit - Elvis To The Max

I am loving this Music Kit.  As a parent with 3 children who play instruments I really struggle to get supplies to suit my scrapping needs for them.

I have photos of only a few of my daughter's journey as a cellist so when photos are taken I love to get them scrapped.  This photo is particularly special, Elvis to the Max was touring Qld and his cellist for his Mackay and Rockhampton dates had had to cancel so my then 19yr was asked to join the tour.  She absolutely loved the experience and made some wonderful friends.  So I knew I wanted to use this kit for this photo of her with Max.

This layout is another layout featuring my challenge of limiting my supplies, the background is just white cardstock with some black ink drops and a strip of the musical instrument washi across the entire sheet.
I unfortunately got some ink and glue in places I didn't intend to so had to change how I would have preferred to do my clustering on this to cover as much of this as possible.  I still love how it turned out.

Unfortunately the Process Video glitched so I don't have a video for you.

There are only a couple of August Kits left so if you would love one make sure you subscribe soon to avoid disappointment.

Lisa - August Kit - Let's Dance

Hello again! Welcome to my second layout using the August Kit for Scrapping Fun Kits. My last one was very traditional, this one is mixed media. I am still new to mixed media so please excuse my sloppiness 😊

I started with a white piece of 12x12 cardstock. I painted the top half with Gesso. Once dry I put some letters I had across the top which I have used as a template. I sprayed over them with Kaisermist and removed the template letters leaving this "dance" title behind.

My Idea was to put the photos across the centre so I haven't coloured that and I sprayed the bottom with the same Kaisermist but without any gesso and patted it dry with some paper towels.

I have traced the title with 0.75 Artline black felt pen and used the tiny rhinestone gems in the Kit to bling it up. I did have to use a couple extra gems that I had left over from a previous kit. The LET'S Alpha's are from Kmart.

The 3 photos were trimmed to 3x4 and placed across the middle of the page. I have not matted these, which is rare for me, but I have trimmed them with the gorgeous ballerina washi from the Kit.

Across the bottom of the page, I have done a cluster of Die Cuts and Embellishments. I have used a mix of Die-cuts from the Reject Shop and Embellishments from the Kit, including the Epoxy Flairs and the White Paper roses. The gorgeous Chipboard Music included in the kit, I have coloured in black. The painting is a little sloppy but I have decided to call it "Shabby". 😉

With a little Journalling added my page is complete. I love the Pink and Black theme. I hope you have enjoyed it too.

Shay - August Kit - THE BOSS.

Well I had alot of fun with this kit, the main challange was coming up with a photo to use the wonderful kit with! Taking note from this kit the beautiful black and white theme running through it along with music, it screamed for a black & white photo! So nter The Boss! The Image was sourced from the internet, from his Brisbane Concert in January 2017. I was lucky enough to go!

I used the Art Deco font from Cricut to form the title and and the written words (Cricut Explorer Air 2) I used the gems from the kit to highlight the line under it and give it a bit more definition.

The pattern paper was from my stash that I have had for a few years so sorry I don't know the name of it. I misted it with Kaiser Mist from Kaiser Craft in Denim then in Kaiser White which I dabbed off or wiped off to lessen the colour of the denim.

In some parts of the layout you can see the vivid colour of the denim. This just gave it a washed out look and not to bright. I also did this technique with the title background to tie it in with the rest of the layout.

With the Memory Maze music chipboard I embossed it (Yes I know I am so predictable) with pewter (metalic finish) from Zing. Love how this turned out was going to use silver but think it would of been to blingy for this page. Though you can't really see it here as the picture is in black and white.

I used the gems to highlight some of the circles on the page giving it a bit more texture I guess you would call it. I am loving these kits as it is pushing me to try new things on my pages.

I have also usede to back the photo film strip from Kaisercraft off the Wall collecton cut in half to do the top and bottom of the picture.

Here you can see the gems and the metal finish of the musical notes.
I must say this layout caused me alot of frustration and anguish. I had something totally diffrent in mind and this was left for a few weeks. 5am seem to be my creative time as this is when I finished this layout, All  can say is that if it isn't working for you leave it come back and try again...and again and again.  Finally after taking a heap of photos and uploading them to the computer ...I decided to add in the gems on the circles. So that was an after thought and a good one I am happy to say!

And here is THE BOSS the finished layout, for you all. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Thank you!

Coralee ~ August Kit ~ 12 x 12 Layout

Hello scrapbooking lovers! I am delighted to bring you my first Guest blog and share my creations with you. Today with the August kit I have created this gorgeous floral layout. The photo I used was from my last ever performance during my Diploma of Music. I decided to use florals as I always find them fun and I wanted to enhance the fun memory this photo brings.

To create the floral wreath and the butterflies I wanted to use one of the sheets of musical paper and base it around what I could create with this. I used the ink splatter technique (and used Dylusions Sprays instead of inkpads) to colour 1 of the musical papers and 2 plain white A5 pieces of cards stock. I also used some perfect pearls to give it all a nice sparkly sheen however this hasn't shown up in the photos.

This is what I ended up with when they were dry.

To get the lighter parts where natural gaps didn't occur I used a water dropper and dropped some water here and there. This then made the dylusions colours kind of seperate in certain areas and left a very pale pink underneath. I left these to dry overnight for good measure however I am sure they would have dried in 30-40 minutes. Another option is to use a heat gun to dry faster however if you have a lot of the product on the paper the air could move this around and change the design.

Then with these I punched out different sized flowers & some large butterflies. I punched the butterflies first as I wanted to ensure I got really nice colouring for them and used the excess paper once I had punched the amount of butterflies I wanted - for the flowers.

Once I had these all punched out I started arranging the flowers into a circle onto a piece of paper that I thought worked well with my colour scheme - Kaszazz SB Paper Love Notes. I kept re-arranging these until I was happy with where they all were and then began to adhere them.

Next I placed the butterflies, adhering them and then I embellished with the rhinestone bling from the kit. Black for the middle of the butterflies and clear for the centre of the flowers.
I cropped my photo of any background that wasn't useful and made a white photomat to add some lightness to it since the photo was so dark and used the sparkly Music die cut exclusive to Design Team members and voila - fun layout complete!

Lisa - August Kit - Music

Hello everyone!! - Welcome to my blog using the August Kit for Scrapping Fun Kits. I love the music theme. I have decided to do a traditional scrapbook page for this one with a Black & White colour scheme. I think you will find this page quite simple to recreate but still makes a good impact.

I had this gorgeous printed paper in my stash which I thought would add a feminine touch to the page and compliment the beautiful kit handmade flowers. I have torn the patterned paper and adhered it to cardstock to frame the page.

I have then embellished the patterned paper with the music note charms and the metal roses from the Kit using Tombow Multi glue. This gives a little musical bling to the flowery design, tying it in with the musical theme.

Along the Bottom of the photos, I have added a trimmed down musical ribbon from the Kit and adorned it with the Gorgeous Handmade flowers on each side. I have distressed the flowers just a little with some black ink.

I added some washi tape ribbon type embellishment to the rosette handmade flower. This Rosette style flower (below) is a Design Team Bonus.

Across the top of the photo, I have used this gorgeous silver "Music" word art, which is another Design team Bonus) and the paper clip bow included in the Kit and the Kit Patterned 4x6 Paper behind the photos to add height to the smaller photo and make the design more symmetrical.
