Sweet Pink Travelers Notebook Layout

The bi-monthly Travelers Notebook is just full of beautiful amazing goodies to keep you going longer than two months!!

The first time I sat down to start using the kit I was inspired to make 11 layouts in my travelers notebook - filling it up. In fact the only reason I didn't make more was that I had to make another notebook and I wasn't in mood to change creativity path at that time hehe. 

This page started from wanting to use the pink "lacey" border sticker, I placed it on the left hand side and then looked through my pile of photos to find this perfect one.I stuck the photo down, slightly under the border sticker to make it feel like part of the layers rather than plonked on the page.

The next step was to choose one of the glorious patterned paper to cover the right hand side of the travelers notebook. I settled on this lovely pink patterned paper (they are all cut to the right size to cover a page in traditional travelers notebook).

Stepping back to look I knew I needed some embellishments to finish off the layout. I used one of these lovely instax inspired frame stickers - using it as a journaling spot. Finishing that cluster off with a flower and arrows - so that your eyes are drawn towards the journaling and the photo rather than off the page.

To balance the whole layout - I added a small cluster to the top of the photo, causing a diagonal design (which also draws eyes to the photo then across to journaling and back again.)

This cluster comprised of a strip of washi tape (as always there were perfect matching patterns to choose from in the kit), an one inch circle that says Right Now and a camera - that looks like wood veneer. Perfection!

Lauren - November Kit - Christmas 2016

Morning everyone, I enjoyed unboxing my November embellishment kit - all those unique Christmas goodies. I enjoyed it so much that I got straight onto creating a fun layout.

I grabbed a photo from Christmas 2016, where you can see that my children are looking at some Christmas lights around our neighbourhood. I chose that photo as I was inspired the patterned paper with the strings of Christmas lights.

I set about cutting out those string of lights, and they were easy placed on the top half of the layout like real Christmas lights on a house roof. I did cut down the cardstock and back it with light green cardstock to make a subtle border to draw the eye into the middle of the layout.

It then called for some basic layering behind the photo so that it could stand off the white background and be the centre of attention. I grabbed similar colours from a small coloured blank paper notebook that I have in my stash and loosely arranged them. I stapled them to make sure they didn't move before adhering to the page.

Then I got to dive into the smaller embellishment pieces in the kit, I was drawn to the bells - I thought they could be strung together on black thread to look like a 3D string of lights tying in the top half of the layout with the photo embellishment clusters.


Finishing the layout of with a cut-a-part word "sparkle", the beautiful lace Christmas tree, a flair and a candy cane button.

Looking at it at this stage I figured it was missing something, perhaps a title but I was unsure how that was  going to occur. Another look at the embellishment kit made me choose the small card that reads "its beginning to look like Christmas" (one of my favourite Christmas songs.) I added that to the bottom cluster and highlighted the title using pink sharpie to outline the letters.

Sarah - Kraft+ Challenge Guest DT - Think Big

I am pleased to be representing Scrapping Fun Kits as a sponsor of this months Kraft Plus Challenge. This months challenge, as pictured above is think BIG. For my layout I used a BIG tag and BIG letters for my title. Lets take a look at the layout below;

The background of this layout is a Kraft glittered cardstock, edged with blue paint to compliment the colours of the tag on it. Firstly, I took the large tag, 12x20cms and added various colours of Dylusions paints to it using my fingers.

I then added the layers behind the photo. I am working on a Family 2017 pocket page album and am using this 8.5x11 inch page for the April cover page. The photo is of my boys on a walk we did in a local park. I layered the photo, as seen below with patterned paper, punchinella and a dotted paper bag from my stash that I tore to add texture. I used some of the embellishments from D-lish Scraps (dude with attitude label) and wooden arrows to add to the tag.

I adhered the tag to the background page and added some BIG alphabet stickers I had in my stash from Creative Memories - so long ago. I outlined these with black ink and adhered them down. A simple but pretty layout with the Kraft glittered background showing through. Let's take a closer look;

I then added a few enamel dots in yelow to compliment the paint colours on the tag.

Shay - Spring Mood Board

Hello,

Today I am up on the blog with my take on the mood board. Loved the colours of this one so had fun designing a page around them. My boyfriend and I describe ourselves as the odd couple he is short and i am taller ( by about 5 inches LOL) total opposite on things but some how it works. In photo's he is always goofing around and poking his tounge out or pulling weird faces so it is rare we get a photo that I love!  The colours for the challange just screamed out to me black and white photo so this is what I have done.

Changed my picture to black and white and printed it at 12x11cm. I used Bohemian Rhapsody paper for the blue matt x 2 ( it has a mottled water coloured effect so used two diffrent tones from the paper) and the pink piece with the grey on it was from my scrap stash. The background on the White Bazill Marshmallow cardstock is water colour paints...I continued the theme of watercolour lights by using the CocoVanilla Bohemian Rhapsody chipboard sticker sheet and dies, Love how simple this layout is ..thoug more embellishments then I am used to!  Thank you for stopping by and having a look.

Sarah - Documenting December 2016....

Hello crafty friends, Sarah here with an exciting blog post showcasing just a small part of the Scrpping Fun Kits Documenting December kit! I am so in love with this kit....I am working on my 2016 December photos, so hopefully getting the album completed before Christmas comes around this year. This photo is of the Christmas list my son created at day care...even though it changed a number of times before Santa even arrived!

This page is a 6X8 size. The photo mat was created using coloured paint. I have used the large dotted paper bag and punchinella as a base for the photo and has the 'wishlist' tag popping out the top. The little Santa hat is just adorable!

I have attached the sewn letter from Santa onto the binder rings so it can easily be moved as the album is flipped through. The embellishments as seen here (the stocking and the gingerbread man) are just beautiful and perfect for any Christmas or December layout. Within this kit, there are glittery numbers, one for each day. I have paired this with a 'DAY" stamp from Kellie Stamps to highlight as each page is made, what day it is in December when events occured.

Lisa - Merry Xmas - November Kit

Hello everyone and welcome to my layout using the Scrapping Funs November Kit. This month I have decided to do a Double Page Layout. I had 13 Photo's of Christmas 1996 to scrap, it intimidated me a little and I started searching for a sketch to follow. But, I couldn't find one so I tackled it head-on. 😆

 

Since the photos are all about opening the presents on Christmas Morning, I decided to make the page look a little like wrapping paper. So I distressed the edges of the patterned paper included in the Kit, then I crumpled up the paper in my hands and straightened it back out to get that crumpled look. I then used the washi tape on the middle photos to give it that taped present look. Due to my Tombow Mono Glue not drying clear 😕 I had to colour the beautiful Xmas tree a yellow to hide the glue strip down the middle. I don't know why it didn't dry clear but I was not happy.

On the right side of the layout, I have tried to just mirror the left page with the opposite colours using the cut-aparts to accent the top photos. I have used the Flairs as part of the Title with a "Merry Xmas". I have used all the Kit Paper in this Layout but you could even do something like this by using some wrapping paper from the Christmas you are scrapping.

I used the Candy Canes from the Kit to add a bit of interest to the word labels. This was a great Kit for this Christmas Double Page Layout and I still have enough embellishments left to do another layout which you will see later this month.

Shay's Traveller Notebook

Hello Everyone and welcome to another month down and so close to Christmas!!

Today I am with you for the first from the new Bi monthly Travellers notebook kit. Love this Kit and idea and am having so much fun working with the kit.

I brought new sunnies and I must admit I love them they are orange and 60's style not eveyrone's cup of tea but fell in love!  So I decided that this was going to be my picture in my TN for this months kit.

I used a peice of the pink string light paper ( no idea what to call it) to matt one page giving it some interest and then using "Enjoy the little things" card to put on the backing paper. I delved into my stash to find the chipboard by Mambo the word silly, as my glasses are that just silly but fun.

On the opposite page I used the watercolour style paper to back my photo. I ran the beautiful yellow orange and blue thin washi across the bottom of both pages and used it to put ontop of the card and photo to look like they were holding down the picture. Mambo chipboard ( the chipboard backing removed to lay flat) was used for the camera and selfie sticker. Also used a red and pink rose from the TN kit.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed creating it.
