Tania August Kit - Star Wars

Today I am playing with a kit kindly sponsored by Scrapping Fun Kits.  Another great pop culture themed one.  

I am still getting used to using my kids ipads to take photo's as my camera has decided to die on me.  

I have used the grey mottled patterned paper from the kit, die cut it in the bottom right corner with one of Tim Holtz's distress dies. 

 Added this to a black card front.  Then I added the planet post it to the top left corner (love this item.  Who knew it existed!!).  I used my Stampin Up Stitched dies to cut out the image from a paper napkin from the kit and mounted that on the next size up die black card.

  

I add the "Star Wars "confetti pieces to the underside to only show one line of the word both top and bottom.  Added the little circle pic on the right bottom and just a very simple Happy Birthday to finish it off.  

And great card for the avid fan.  Thank you for taking the time to look at my project.

Karen - August 2019 Kit - Star Wars

This little layout is actually a card I made for a friend who loves Star Wars as much as me and this kit was perfect for this project. 

I used a dark blue card from my stash to mimic the effect of night time/galaxy and added one of the planet stickers in the top left hand corner.

I wanted to make the paper clay encased man the main focus of this, so was sure to use multi-matte medium to set it in place.

Of course I wanted to use the Star Wars logo, and really use this kit in the most obvious, literal way.

I wanted to use a quote from the movie, and this one was perfect. Using the quote he's all yours, while added the encased man, was the perfect tribute to this card.

I used my label maker to type out the quote - I didn't want to risk using alpha's that may fall off. It was also good to overlay over a piece of vellum that also came with the kit.

To finish off the galaxy effect,  I used the Washi tape from the kit across the top and bottom of the card to frame it.

I really love the simplicity of this card. It came together so easy with the well co-ordinated kit.

Julie - July kit - Start Your Day card

Good morning

Today I am sharing my second project using the July kit.

The photo below shows the card when it is open. Each front section is a Z fold.

This view shows the card with the left hand side closed and the right hand side open.

The card base is cut from white cardstock. It measures 10.5" x 5.25". I have scored it at 1 3/8" and 2 3/4" then flipped it and and scored at the same measurements on the other end.

Make a mountain fold first and then a valley fold. Repeat this for the other side of the card.

I cut a piece of patterned paper from the kit to 5" x 4.75", inked the edges and attached it to the middle section of the card.

Using Cheery Lyn "Chrysanthemum Strip" die, Couture Creations CO724161 flower die and a no brand flower die and the paper from the kit I cut enough flower layers to create 6 flowers.

Each of the flower layers was inked on the edges and rolled around my poke tool to give them some dimension. Using glue I layered the flowers on top of each other, staggering the petals. Crystal gems are attached to the centre of 4 of the flowers.

I used my Cottage Cuts Leafy Foliage die to cut some leaves, inked the edges and attached them amongst the flowers.

The flowers on the front of the card blended into the patterned paper the centre of the card too much for my liking so I cut a piece of white cardstock 5" x 2.75". I ink the edge of this and then attach it to the centre of the card. When the card is closed the flowers on the front of the card stand out much better.

The greeting is a Kaisercraft clear sticker from the "Inspirational" pack which I have cut into sections so it shows between the flowers when the card is closed. It is a generic greeting so I can use this card for any occasion. My hand written message will be written on the white panel beneath this greeting.

June Kit - Baby Cards

Who can resist making a baby card or two? It's one of the first things I think of when I hear someone is pregnant - the chance to make some baby crafts.

I made three cards from the June kit, the only thing I added was some blue card stock, and one of my baby stamp images.

I used one of my scallop dies to cut out one of the paper sheets to add to my blue card stock.

The left over yellow ribbon fit neatly behind this as I'd mounted it on some foam to give it some dimension.

The cute die cuts were an easy addition to the front, as well as the flower, which I used in the top right hand corner.

I finished off with the blue twine which twisted around the bottom a few time.

I used the tissue paper on top of the patterned sheet to add some texture, and used the yellow ribbon to frame it. I also used the orange twine to add an accent to the ribbon, so it wasn't too orange.  I cut out the giraffe from another paper sheet to use as a die cut  and finished off with a stamped sentiment - Welcome Little One. I originally tried to do this in Gold, but it didn't show up very well. The black stands out a little too much for my liking but overall I'm pleased with this one - very cute and gender neutral.

This has got to be my favourite - so cute!

It was so easy to assemble, using the die cut, ribbon and gorgeous little feet from the kit. The flower ribbon made a nice textured finishing touch at the top left, but its the cute little elephants that I think really make this card.

Julie - June 2019 Kit - Baby cards

Hi there everyone

Well it is June and very cold. I am afraid that the cold weather is not my best friend. I am, unfortunately, a fair weather girl and I am not that keen on all the layers of clothing one has to wear in the colder months.

Today I am sharing a set of new born cards I have recently made using the June Scrapping Fun Kits kit. You can subscribe to the kits here.

These are the cards.

The first card is for a new baby girl and measures 4.5" square.

I have layered 3 of the patterned papers so they decrease in size by 0.25" for each layer. i.e. 4.25", 4", and 3.75"

The scalloped hearts are cut using the 4 smallest dies in my Do Crafts Scalloped Hearts die set from the same pink cardstock the card base is cut from.

I inked around the edge of all of these pieces with Versa Color Orchid ink. I attached each heart on top of the other with just a strip if d/sided tape in the middle of each heart so that the sides of each heart can be lifted to create some dimension. I also covered the smallest heart with sparkle using my Wink of Stella pen

I wrapped some yellow lace from the kit around my embellishment panel and tied it in a bow before I secured it to the front of the card.

The giraffe was fussy cut from the cut-a-part sheet and attached to the card front with glue so it slightly overlapped the bottom layer of the hearts

A computer generated sentiment was printed on the same pink cardstock and attached using foam tape.

For a little bit more detail on the inside of the card I covered the background of the right hand section with some of the patterned paper and then added the larger heart. I matted another sentiment onto some of the patterned paper from the kit and attached that to the top area of the heart so there is room to write a personal message on the heart. The heart was also covered with sparkle from the Wink Of Stella pen

For the baby boy I card I created a tri-fold 5.25" square card using some light blue cardstock from my stash.

I cut a piece of patterned paper to 5" square to put on the inside of the card and 2 pieces of 2 5/8" x 5" pieces for the front and inside left of the card.

I created the sentiment on the computer and printed it on the same blue cardstock that the cards base is made from. I cut a fishtail from each end of the sentiment for a little added detail.

The "Cuddles" die cut was in the kit so I cut the "s" off the end and used 2 blue ink pads to colour it so that it complimented the other colours on the card.

The sentiment and the die cut were then added to the blanket that I had cut from the cut-apart-sheet.

Using 2 pieces of bakers twine I wrapped the front patterned paper a couple of times and then tied a knot. This was attached at the back of the patterned paper with d/sided tape before I attached the patterned paper to the card base.

The embellishment panel was attached to the front of the card so it over hung about half way.

To decorate the inside of the card I cut several pieces from the cut-apart-sheet and attached them to the bottom of the card once I had attached the patterned paper to both areas of the inside of the card.

Julie - May 2019 Kit - 3 Cards

Good morning paper crafting friends

Today I am sharing 3 cards I made using the May kit from Scrapping Fun Kits.

I have made a layout using this kit already. You can see the video here if you want to check it out.

The two square cards are 5.25" square and were cut from a sheet of 12" x 12" cardstock that was already embossed.

The first card has two strips of patterned paper down the left hand edge, They have both had their right hand edges torn. I have wrapped some ribbon around the top patterned paper before I attached it to the card with foam tape. I made the coloured flower using Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die. I share how to make this in the video.

A white flower and some leaves from my stash finish off the decorative cluster on the bottom left of the card.

A fishtail banner cut in white cardstock and then mounted on some of the patterned paper hold the sentiment that is created using the orange alpha stickers from the kit.

A little bit of bling is created by adding some of the red sequins randomly on the card with glue.

I wanted to use the rest of the sequins and the glass beads from the kit in a shaker card so this next card is how I did it.

I cut a square of the patterned paper and then cut a square of orange cardstock that was slightly bigger.

I used a no brand die to cut the flower out of the middle of the patterned paper. I attached some acetate to the back of the patterned paper with glue and then two layers of foam tape to make a complete circle around the cut out. The sequins and beads were then added and the orange cardstock stuck on top to seal them all in. I used a double layer of foam tape so that there would be plenty of room for the sequins to move around.

I then stuck the flower cut out on top of the acetate to add the flower detail back in.

A red gem was added to the centre of the flower.

I tied a knot in a piece of the ribbon from the kit and used it as a backing for 3 of the paper flowers the bottom left of the shaker panel. I also added two more flowers to the top right hand corner of the panel

The greeting was once again made with the alpha stickers added to some white cardstock and then double matted on patterned paper and orange cardstock.

This final card was created on a 6" x 4" card that I created from plain white cardstock.

I have cut a piece of orange cardstock and a piece of white cardstock each one a quarter of an inch smaller in both directions that the piece beneath it, creating a couple of layers.

A couple of fishtail banners were cut from the patterned papers and because they were very short I have cut them in half and stretched them out behind the patterned paper circle. The circle was cut using a Lifestyles Nesting Doily Circles die.

To create the backing for the greeting I cut a piece of orange cardstock and added a layer of the ribbon from the kit then the greeting which was created by adding the alpha stickers to some white cardstock and trimmed to fit the ribbon panel.

The paper roses were attached using my hot glue gun.
All of the papers on this card have inked edges.

Tania C Guest DT Take 2

Welcome back to the Whovian fun.  Here is my second project using the Who Kit from Scrappin' Fun Kits.  I am kicking myself that I did not take a pic of the kit.  Seriously it has some fantastic charms! 

I went out of my comfort zone to try and do something a little different .  I tried to stay with the kit as much as possible on this one.  I used many more of the embellishments and fussy cut some of the T.A.R.D.I.S 's out.  Or is that T.A.R.D.I.I?  Doesn't sound right does it...lol.  

Anyway here is the finished product.  

This is a totally different style for me but it does not hurt to step out of your comfort zone.

Now can you see what I mean about those charms!  Sooo cute!  And you may noticed I used a little of the patterned paper behind the charms that match the No.4 Doctor's scarf.  It is all in the details.

Amy- Dino-Tastic Card- November 2018 Kit

Hey Scrappin Fun Fans,

Amy here on the blog today, with a bit of a different project to share with you. I thought that I would try my hand at using the kit this month for making a card, especially being that I have a little Miss who loves dinosaurs. I haven't made many cards so I wasn't sure how I would go , but I am happy with how this turned out.
I first up decided to use a blue piece of 12x12 cardstock and folded it half then cut it down to a 6 inch piece.

 I then went through the remaining pieces of the kit I had and decided what I would use on the front; I decided that bulkier embellishments would work best on the front.

I decided to make the blue dino paper centre on the front cover and then embellish around it. I really wanted to use the vine piece and all the little resin leaves and 2 charms. So I got to work. First up sticking the paper down. I had to use glossy accents to stick down the vine piece and I tied a little knot in the top just for an added little interest and I did pop in a few little staples at the bottom of it to hold it in place. I covered the staples with a wood dinosaur shape I also glued down with glossy accents (I felt the stronger adhesive was needed on the vine material). 

To balance out the heaviness of the left side I popped the flower bunch and 2 of the resin leaves along the right side. 

I still felt the front was missing something so I also added some of the washi tape from the kit along the bottom. 

Next I added the sentiment across the middle using the mini foam thickers from the Pink Paislee/Paige Evans Whimsical collection and I went with a subtle multicoloured effect to make it more fun and child like. 

Next up was the inside of my card and it was a little more simpler. I used the book dino paper from the kit as the centre paper and backed it onto some Vicki Boutin leaf pattern paper to give it some more pop from the blue cardstock. I then bordered this with the fern print ribbon and another washi tape piece from in the kit just to give it some more emphasis and interest. I did place a strip of ribbon on the left hand side to cover the staples up too. And as an added little bonus I have put the 2 little charms from the kit onto 2 pieces of twine and hung them inside the card for the lucky owner. 

I hope you have liked this slightly different project with this months kit and its given you maybe a different way of looking at your kit.

Tania - Who Kit - WHO card

Hello everyone.  Today I am sharing something a little different.  I am Guest Designing for Scrapping Fun Kits.

This month the theme was Dr Who (hence why I jumped at the chance!)  I <3 <3 Doctor Who.  I have made 2 projects using this kit.  The second one I will share later in the month. 

Now my style is a lot simpler than the average scrapbookers work.  But it is nice to see all the different ways one kit can be used.  I won't leave you in suspense any longer.  Here we go!

I did accompany my kit with Kindred Stamps Time Traveler  and an old Avery Elle set I have in my stash.  Now, can you see the hidden word in the patterned paper?  Here is a different angle to look from. 

Fits perfectly with the theme of the card.  I love the silhouette technique.  Can be very effective. 

 I had a lot of fun making this one.  And I am sure I can find a Whovian who would love this!

Shay - Dino Kit - Jungle Fever Birthday Card

Hello Everyone!

Today I am up on the blog with a card I made from November's Dino Kit. I love how this card turned out so simple but so much fun to make and the recipient could be an adult or a child.

I used some black, white and a green card stock from my stash to help build this card. Next I used a stamp with some embossing ink on it to make the Happy Birthday, to add to the card I used the fabulous vine embellishment from the November kit giving it dimension and a boarder.  The two brads either side of the Happy Birthday are from the kit as well. A simple design and quite quick. I love how this turned out and is going to be my grandson's 7th Birthday Card in a few weeks time.

Sarah - August 2018 Kit - Distress Ink cards

Hello crafty friends, Sarah here with my last project for Scrapping Fun Kits. Today I have made two cards using items from the amazing August kit and some distress inks.

This first card was made using a number of distress inks and blending them together at the edges to create this sky line background. Using the skyline die cut in the August kit, it was perfect for this kind of card. The stamped words on the front were from a Heidi Swapp stamp set. I then adhered three gold stars I had in my stash.

The second card was created also using distress inks. This time I applied the distress ink on to a piece of plastic packaging, spritzed it with water and then applied it to the card. Drying in between each layer, I love how this Christmas Card design was simply created. I used the gorgeous ribbon from the August kit to finish it off along with a Memorymaze chipboard lasercut word.

Raelene - July 2018 Kit - Polar Express Card

When I first saw the train washi in the July 2018 Harry Potter inspired kit I felt it was perfect for not just a Harry Potter project but also a Polar Express project so I started by creating a Printable which I printed on 200gsm paper.  If you ordered one of the July 2018 Kits check your email as I will be sending you a copy of this printable.

I selectively cut my paper so I could slot the washi in under it so the ticket was over the train.  As I decided to turn it into a card I cut down my paper to suite my card front, factoring in how the washi would affect the length of the card front.

For my card base I cut some black cardstock to 7.5 inches by 8 inches, giving me a finished 4 x 7.5 inch card.


I chose to use Helmar Acid Free Glue to adhere my paper so I would have movement while sticking it down so I could tweak things if needed.
I started by just sticking down the area of the paper that the washi would be slotting under.
I then carefully stuck the washi down, lining it up with the left paper edge and trimmed the right hand side to be the same width as the paper.
I glued down the ticket onto the washi.

I was calling this done and then hubby said it needs snow so I grabbed my white paint and put a small amount on a pallet and added a little water.  I flicked some of the watered down paint onto my card to represent snow which worked beautifully on the paper and wiped any that landed on the ticket off it with a wet wipe.

I love the finished card, it was so quick to create.
Now I just need to work out who I should send this Christmas card to this year and put a message inside.

Lisa - May Awareness Moodboard - Birthday Card

Hello everyone. Welcome to my take on the Scrapping Fun May Awareness Moodboard Challenge.

I took from this Moodboard the "Zebra" theme and the Blue & Purple colours and decided to do a Birthday Card for my grandson who is turned 4 last week. I also used the bonus Birthday mini kit that came with the April Kits 😀



I used 8x6 white card as the base of the card and then matted the patterned paper that came in the Birthday Mini Kit onto black to create a frame.

I used a mix of colourful alpha stickers that I have had in my stash for donkey's years and black Thicks for my Salutation " You're one of kind" like a Zebra is one of kind.

The cute little Balloon charm from the Bonus Birthday Mini Kit I have used as the apostrophe in "you're" with some raffia to tie it in.




This gorgeous little wood veneer Zebra has been in waiting to come out for a special moment. I actually have a few more of him sitting in the draw which I am sure I will use in the near future in one or two of the scrapbook albums I create in the future.

The ribbon I have used across the bottom of the card is also from the Bonus Birthday Mini Kit. 

I hope you like the idea of this card as much as my Grandson loved his birthday card.
