Raelene - August 2018 Kit - Mary Poppins Fesitval 2018 Memories.

Living in the town PL Travers was born in means I have a lot of Mary Poppins memories to document in addition to my memories of enjoying the movie as a child and again as a parent with my children.

Today's post is about documenting this year's Mary Poppins Festival, I left several pages in the front of my traveler's notebook insert for documenting my childhood memories and taking my kids to the festival when they were younger.

There was so many wonderful costumes and so much going on, we could have taken hundreds of photos and not captured all the wonderful things.
So let's get started with some of the pages I created.

I started with decorating the cover of my insert, you may have seen this already if you follow me on Facebook and Instagram.

You can find the Process Video for this here.  (sorry  no voice over as I am still learning to use this new software)

I used Distress Inks to blend a sunset background.  My distress tool had gone missing so I just used a dry baby wipe and it worked really well for getting the ink down and blended.

I then glued the London Cityscape die cut from the Scrapping Fun Kits August 2018 kit along the bottom of my cover and a die cut of Mary Poppins to the front.

Perfect for all my Mary Poppins memories.

For this layout of my daughter buying a icecream I used the adorable kite I used the kite paper along the top and added a scrap of paper from my stash to the bottom.  To hide the join I used the lace from the August 2018 kit that I had left over from creating my White with 1 Challenge layout.   To finish hiding the join I created a cluster with stickers and die cuts from my stash
I coloured my typed journaling with Distress Ink Walnut Stain using the same technique I used on my Butterbeer layout last month.

I love how this page turned out.  The kite paper coordinated so well with my scraps and the lace was just perfect for pulling it all together.

Some photos on layouts are covered due to my forgetting to ask permission to share them.

The kite and spoon from the cut apart combined with one of the cute wood veneer tea cups in the August 2018 Kit were the perfect little accent for this layout which is some photos of people in costume.
I loved seeing people of all ages in costume, from young children and teens to adults of all ages including many elderly people.  It was fantastic to see everyone having so much fun so a large part of this project is photos of people in costume.

The Penny Farthing chipboard from Memorymaze that was in the August 2018 kit was perfect for documenting my search for the men who come with Penny Farthings each year.

I used the left over piece of kite paper for the background and added a Mary Poppins clip art I found online, a tag from a printable I made and some bits from my stash.

You can download the printable I made here.

I was getting towards the end of my supplies but the clock and carousel horse from the cut apart in the kit and one of the wood veneer tea cups were perfect for this layout of a pic of the Mary Anne (a old steam train that runs in Queens Park every Thursday, at Sunday in the Park and at the Mary Poppins Festival).
I also added a label from the printable I made myself and used some paper from my stash for the background.

So there are a few of the pages in my Mary Poppins Pocket Page Notebook.  I will share more pages in another post at 3pm up on my blog and I will have a flip through up on my Youtube channel shortly for you.
I hope it has inspired you to create.
If you would love one of these kits I have a couple left so head to the Subscription Tab and fill in the form, as it is the end of the month enter August into the promo code box so I know you want the August kit.

Sarah - August 2018 Kit - Distress Ink cards

Hello crafty friends, Sarah here with my last project for Scrapping Fun Kits. Today I have made two cards using items from the amazing August kit and some distress inks.
This first card was made using a number of distress inks and blending them together at the edges to create this sky line background. Using the skyline die cut in the August kit, it was perfect for this kind of card. The stamped words on the front were from a Heidi Swapp stamp set. I then adhered three gold stars I had in my stash.
The second card was created also using distress inks. This time I applied the distress ink on to a piece of plastic packaging, spritzed it with water and then applied it to the card. Drying in between each layer, I love how this Christmas Card design was simply created. I used the gorgeous ribbon from the August kit to finish it off along with a Memorymaze chipboard lasercut word.

I would like to thank Raelene for supporting me on this amazing Design team and to the rest of the Scrapping Fun Kits design team....you're all ace! Thanks again for all the words of encouragement and creative inspiration!

Lauren - August Kit 2018 Kit - Lovely.

Hello Everyone,

I love the vintage girly vibe of the August 2018 kit and made some DIY embellishments and art page during livestream at the beginning of the month.

This meant that I had this awesome project life size embellishment that goes so well with this selfie.

I started with 9x12 cardstock that I used peach coloured spray and the packaging technique, I then sprayed directly over the top of that peach colour with a shimmer pink spray.

I then added some ink splatters in right top corner and left bottom corner.

Because I used the DIY embellishment next to the photo it was a large cluster that was already made and perfectly coordinated as a whole. Making DIY embellishments is a fun creative time but also so lovely when it comes to creating scrapbooking or project life page as a big chunk of the layout is done.

I added some ripped patterned paper to right side of the photo, this matched the embellishment, this was also teed up with some ripped umbrella washi and lace piece.

Under the photo I positioned red stripey ribbon and lace piece, one of those amazing fabric covered wood veneer tea cup and two paper daisys from the kit.

I ripped the left edge of the layout and put some pinky red cardstock underneath, this was to frame or border the page rather than the normal patterned paper border or doodley border.

I reached into my stash for the thicker phrase title and then added some journalling.

Two hearts from the thickers pack onto the diy embellishment and the bottom right cluster.

See you next month, Lauren.

Jaymilee - August 2018 Kit - Let's go fly a kit Art Journal spread

Hey everybody Jaymi here, I’m up on the blog today sharing an art journal page that was both inspired by and used things from the Augustembellishment kit. I started with the idea of making an art journal layout based around the song ‘let’s go fly a kite’ from you guessed Mary Poppins.

Firstly I used some just watercolours from my stash and did a gradient from green on the bottom to a light blue on the top. By using water colour this is really easy as they blend together very well. Next I just went online and found a template of an outline of a father and a child flying a kite and traced it to make the outline of the people. I water to do this as I really wanted the main colour to come from the kites in the sky.

Next I cut out the kite die cut from the kit this month as well as the little kites from one of the papers in this month’s kit. I picked the big kit to connect with the people arms as I wanted it to be the centre of attention with the kites. I glued these down using matt gel medium, you could use any wet glue on water colour as it doesn’t create that much texture. I added some black lines from the kite using a black pen and some little details on the string of the kites.

Next I just wrote out the little quote ‘let’s go fly a kite’ using a black pen and in my script font. I do love how it turned out. If you are not confident in doing this with a pen straight away do it in pencil and go over that with your pen it makes things a lot easier.

Finally I used my black pen again to add the little trees on the ground. This was really simple to do and I think it added a really nice effect to the page and brought the whole layout together.

That’s all from me today, I hope you enjoyed my art journal page. Check out some of the other ladies projects using the August embellishmentkit.

Jaymi.

Amy- August 2018 Kit - Wedding bliss

Hey Scrapping Fun Peeps,
How is everyone? I have a new project to share using this months beautiful embellishment kit and I have used it to create a lovely pocket page spread. I am documenting photos from my sister in laws wedding form back in March this year, which was just gorgeous- the day, the setting, everything!

First up I wanted to create the 'card' in the bottom middle pocket using the paper from the kit. Slight problem was I only had a little of both papers left , so I got a little extra crafty and using the washi in the kit joined 2 half pieces together and then stuck the photo over the join.

I then embellished this using the cityscape cut out, 1 of the cute little tea cups and some little heart stickers from my stash.

I then went a little all out and decided to embellish all the photos on the spread... oops. I wanted to use a variety of pieces from the kit but wanted to make sure they fitted with the theme of the spread, so the vintage pieces like the cups worked in well.

The cut apart pieces I used (clock and kite) were the perfect size for the photos and didn't take away from my photos at all.

I painted the penny farthing using Dylusions paint in the Rose Quartz colour.
I did add some pieces from my stash, like word stickers and hearts.

This spread turned out just beautifully and will be perfect to add to our 2018 family album in documenting this event.

I hope you are all enjoying your August kit and creating lots.

Until next time
Amy.

Connie - August 2018 Kit - Floral Card

Hey Arty Friends!

I hope we have all had a good month playing with our NEW kits!
I totally love the "vintage" look this month ... Stunning!

This month I decided to make some cards. My card stash is getting pretty low so I need to start re-stocking! I love knowing I have a stash of ready made cards ready for any occasion.

The first card I made, I went really vintage. I just love the lace that was included in the kit, so I was definitely using that. Too be honest this card just came together really quickly & I just love it!

I found some embellishments & printables in my stash that matched the pink floral paper in the kit, inked up the edges with some distress ink! ... Perfect! Added the oh so cute umbrella & I was done!

It's a great feeling when you get kits that just work. Thats why I love Scrapping Fun kits so much!

I will be back soon to share my other cards!

Happy Scrapping!

Amy- August 2018 Kit - Hello Sunshine

Hey Scrapping Fun Fans,

A gorgeous vintage feel to this months kit makes for the perfect fit for this layout I found, a gorgeous photo of my niece from about 12 months ago all dressed up for my birthday.

I have used patterned paper from the Auburn Lane collection by Pink Paislee with its very subtle pink tone that coordinated well with my photo and the elements of the kit. I have used the 2 pieces of patterned paper in the kit to add different layering elements to the page and some added colour.

I knew I was going to make some embellishment clusters on the diagonal of the photo, so begun on those. First was the lower right which involved the lace ribbon , which I loosely adhered initially using glossy accents. I then used several of the paper flowers to create a little bunch and popped them behind the ribbon. I then adhered a flair and 1 of the super cute little tea cups to the front using the glossy accents. And that cluster was done.

Onto the 2nd cluster, which is on the top left of the photo and I have used 1 of the carousel horse cut aparts as the larger feature of this cluster, followed by 1 of the charms and another of the cute tea cups.

To add some small pops of colour I used some enamel dots from my stash and placed them around the page. And to finsih off I added a border to ground the layout in and that was done.

Jaymilee - August 2018 kit - May project life page

Hey everyone. I’m up on the blog today sharing a project life spread using the amazing August embellishment kit. This kit was Mary Poppins themed and I was so excited to use it, Mary Poppins was one of my favourite movies growing up. I do monthly project life and a 9 x 12 format. Project life is a great way to scrap memories fast I find.

The great thing about project life and scrapping in general is you can do whatever you want. I know I wouldn’t have enough photos and also space at home or the time to do a weekly project life so I choose monthly. For this spread I thought it couldn’t be anymore fitting to use the kit for the month it was announced I was on this spread I thought it couldn’t be anymore fitting to use the kit for the month it was announced I was on this design team, May.

First thing I did was put in my photos and cut out two 3x4 size pieces from the paper included in the kit. I have predominantly my cards at the start of the year just using some journal cards from the reject store and my script font. I also included a ticket from a movie I saw this month. First thing I did was use double sided tape to glue down the photos to the cards I had.

The next thing I did was I wanted to create a little journal card. I used some little gold alpha stickers from my stash and just added a flower and a border around the outside. I knew I wanted a full journal card this month to document about my anniversary.

Next I wanted to add a little embellishment to the card with the painting picture. I stapled on the little flower piece from the kit and also a label from my stash.

The last thing I did was I created a little pep through section in one of the pockets. This month I didn't have enough photos to make a whole spread so I thought it would be a cool idea to use the cityscape die cut to create a little see through element. First I just cut it down to three inch and just put that straight into the pocket. I added a little pink glitter from my stash and just sealed the pocket with some tape measure washi from my stash. I choose this washi because I thought the colours worked amazing with the glitter but also because Mary Poppins uses her measure tape in the movie.

I'm really happy with how this project life layout turned out. it was also really quick and took me about 20 minutes all up. that's all from me today I hope you enjoyed this page and stay tuned for some more projects using this kit.
Jaymilee

Sarah - August 2018 kit - Old Gippstown

Hello crafty friends, Sarah here with a pocket page layout using the amazing August 2018 Kit. Let's take a look at what's in the kit.
When I saw this kit, I instantly thought of Mary Poppins....and our visit to local Old Gippstown. The Gippsland Heritage Park is set in the 1850's where you can see the classic vehicles and learn about the early European settlement of Victoria. I took my boys on one day in the January school holidays and they got to experience a number of the activities and events of the 1850's. It was great fun!
The cards were made using the patterned paper in the kit - the two patterns were mixed and matched and the embellishments used to make layers. The top left card was fun to make...the Penny Farthing chipboard was painted black and covered with Prima Wax - Vintage Silk. I love the effect this wax has on a dark coloured chipboard. The lace from the kit is also just adorable!
For the other cards I used a small photo of our time at Old Gippstown and layered them with other embellishments in the kit - the cut apart clock, spoon and the most adorable wooden veneer cup and saucers. The charms in this kit are so devine....the little handbag and umbrella were perfect for this layout.
I hope you enjoyed this layout and if you haven't already got your August 2018 kit, jump on to the Subscription Tab and order today!

Raelene - White with 1 August Challenge - Selfie

I was so excited when I saw the August colour for White with 1as it is one of the colours featured in my September 2018 Kit so you are getting a special sneak peek of September with this layout.
I have a Special Offer for White with 1 fans and Scrapping Fun Kits fans, if you order and pay for the August and September Kits I will ship September with your August Kit, so if you order in the first week of the month depending on how the post is going it should reach you with enough time to create a gorgeous layout for August White with 1.  This offer is only available to Australian residents due to the delays that can occur with International Post.

Unfortunately I forgot to use this month's sketch but my layout kind of turned out looking like the sketch so I wonder if it was in the back of my mind while I was creating.

In addition to the gorgeous Yellow items from the September 2018 Kit I used the White lace and daisies from the August 2018 Kit, the white flower from our School Kit and the Yellow butterfly charm from the September 2017 kit.

I started with the gorgeous Yellow Daisy paper and placed my 3 photos I was trying to decide on on it to work out which one suited this paper best.  Once that photo was decided on I knew I needed to use the Selfie word with this photo.  It is a selfie my daughter took in the car mirror on her way to her first ever day volunteering to fundraise for Starlight Children's Foundation.

I then played with the flowers to created a cluster and the lace from the August kit.  Once I had a basic idea of how this would work I started gluing things down with Helmar Acid Free Glue and Helmar Craft Glue.
The little daisies from the August 2018 Kit added a lovely little pop to the flower cluster.

I added the yellow straw and vintage crochet flower to the left side of the paper and flower cluster, along with the white lace daisy from the August 2018 Kit, it really helped finish off the main part of the layout.

Once I had the main part of the layout done I felt it needed something else so I decided to add some of this gorgeous washi to the top right and bottom left corner and to pull it in with the main part of the layout I added a piece under the main part of the layout, thankfully I hadn't glued the paper all the way to the edge.

I decided to add some of the yellow lace to the washi on the corners so then added it under the white lace to pull that in too.  I added a layer under the middle of the white lace which gives a nice hint through the white.

I also added the little daisies to the corner clusters to help make the corner clusters balance with the rest of the layout.
And I finished off the top cluster with this Yellow Butterfly Charm from the September 2017 Kit.

I finished my layout with a yellow doodle border, off camera.  I love the finished layout.

There are still a few spaces left for August and September so if you would love these kits head to the Subscription Tab and fill in the form.  If you want both click for a single kit enter September in the promo code so I know you want a 2 month subscription.
