Connie - August 2018 Kit - Floral Card

Hey Arty Friends!

I hope we have all had a good month playing with our NEW kits!
I totally love the "vintage" look this month ... Stunning!

This month I decided to make some cards. My card stash is getting pretty low so I need to start re-stocking! I love knowing I have a stash of ready made cards ready for any occasion.

The first card I made, I went really vintage. I just love the lace that was included in the kit, so I was definitely using that. Too be honest this card just came together really quickly & I just love it!

I found some embellishments & printables in my stash that matched the pink floral paper in the kit, inked up the edges with some distress ink! ... Perfect! Added the oh so cute umbrella & I was done!

It's a great feeling when you get kits that just work. Thats why I love Scrapping Fun kits so much!

I will be back soon to share my other cards!

Happy Scrapping!

Connie - July 2018 Kit - Mixed Media Tag ...

Hello Arty Friends!!!

I am loving the Harry Potter theme for this months kit!
But too be honest I was really stuck on what I was going to do! ... I had so many ideas running around in my head I just couldn't decide on which way I wanted to go.

For the last year, I have planned to make my own Harry Potter junk journal, I have been collecting all sorts of stuff to go into this junk journal & I have been on the hunt for a used Harry Potter hard cover book to use as my cover, which I have yet to find!
So I decided to make a Mixed Media tag, that will eventually end up in my Harry Potter junk journal!

To start off I did a transfer using the brick paper onto a watercolour tag. To do the transfer I coated the tag & the brick paper with matte medium & stuck them together (brick side down). After it had completely dried I sprayed the back off the brick paper with water & used my finger to rub off the white paper to revel the transfer. Now this doesn't always work & most times you wont get a solid transfer, but that is the look I was going for.

I then started to build up my layers using a bit of hessian, texture paste, off cuts of paper from the July kit. I also used Tim Holtz's distress ink to add a bit of depth to my tag.
I also sprayed some off cuts of white netting with Dylusions Spray in Ground Coffee to use in the layering & for the top of the tag.
I then used the distress ink to darken up a tree chipboard piece that I found in my stash & arranged a little cluster using the flowers, the metal bird cage & the wool off the paper clip from the kit.
I adhered it all down usng a hot glue gun.
Finishing off my tag with a bit off netting & the 9 3/4 metal tag charm from the kit!

I am so happy with the result.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you enjoyed my little Harry Potter projects this month!

Until next time ...

Connie - July 2018 Kit - " Magic " ...

Hello Hello Hello!!!!

I love Harry Potter!!!

My son Keenan & I are huge Harry Potter fans, watching & re-watching the movies over & over again!!! we just love it!
We have even started our Harry Potter collection, which sit proudly in our living room!

When we heard that a Harry Potter po-up shop was going up in Myer Melbourne, we jumped at the chance to check it out! Keenan, Jorja & I jumped on a train & headed into the city to check it out! What a crazy day, there where people everywhere! We had a awesome day.

So for this months kit I scrapped a 12x12 layout using one of the photo's from the pop-up shop!
To start of with I picked out an OLD scrapbooking paper from years ago for my back ground, it matched the papers from the kit perfectly.
I then used a Dina Wakely stencil & some texture paste to add some "bricks" to the background. I added a little bit os stamping on the background also using Staz-on Blue Hawall & a Kaisercraft background stamp.

I then layed my photo with papers from th kit & some random stuff sitting on my table!
With my title i used some super OLD Heidi Swapp chipboard alphas, painted them white & added a little bit off gold flakes while the paint was still wet! ... I just love the look!

Thanks guys for dropping by this month!

Look forward to seeing what you all do with the kit!

Bye 4 now!

Connie - June Embelishment kit - 12x12 Layout!

Hey Hey! ... scrappy friends!

Connie here today with my first ever Design Team post! ...
This months kit is to die for, stunning vintage colours with some beautiful lace pieces.
I fell in love with this kits as soon as I had it in my hands! I instantly knew what I wanted to do & the photo I was going to use!

So for this kit I decided to do a 12x12 layout, using a black & white photo of my daughter Jorja on her grade 6 graduation night! I am a professional photographer, so I opened my studio before the graduation started so all the kids could pop around & have a mini photo shoot!

I love this photo of my daughter looking so beautiful & grown uo up! ... Boy do they grow fast.
I also as a extra treat filmed a You Tube video of my process. Link for the process video can be found at the end of the post!
