Jaymille -Winter Moodboard - tea solves everything

Hey Everyone,
I’m up on the blog today sharing my art journal spread, inspired by the Winter Moodboard. From the moodboard I took the purple tones and the mug. Two of my favourite things are the colour purple and a hot cup of tea so this moodboard was a great inspiration.

First I started by drawing the girl on the left hand side of the page. I knew i wanted a quote, a girl holding some tea and of course. I sketched out the girl using an image I found just on google. This is a great way to draw images if you aren’t confident in drawing them from scratch or don’t have any stamps or stencils. Then I used some dylusions ink. The one used is called laid back lilac. I sprayed some water on the page then the ink. I only sprayed the ink once because I wanted a lot of white space. I used some water colour to paint the girl and then traced around her with black pen.











I used a star stencil from my stash and mixed together some purple and blue paint to get this beautiful colour. Next thing was to find my quote and write it out. After I found my quote I wrote it in pencil first and then went over it with a black pen.

Finally I used a gold paint pen and a purple pen to add some crosses around the page for a some little details. This layout was super simple to make and only took about 30 minutes including drawing the girl.

Sarah - July 2018 Kit - Book Week

Hello crafty friends, Sarah here with you, back this month with my first layout using the amazing July 2018 Kit. Whilst I am not up with the Harry Potter craze, I absolutely love this kit...perfect for layouts and projects of all kinds!

This 6x8 inch layout is of my older son a number of years ago, dressed up for Book Week at school. Whilst he is dressed as a vampire, the cut apart embellishments in this kit accompany the theme well.

The background paper of books on shelves also was a great compliment to the theme and a lovely base paper for the layout. This paper is adhered to white cardstock, edged with black paint. I matted my photo on the parchment paper from the kit and fussy cut out the pumpkin stack and little rat. I outlined them with black marker so they stood out a little more.

I created the title using letter stickers in my stash and added some of the washi tape in the kit to ground the title. Lastly a few red enamel dots to finish off the layout. I hope you enjoyed this layout and if you haven't already, get in quick to get your kit today! Until next time...

Lauren ~ July 2018 Kit ~ Butterbeer!!

Hey everyone, Lauren here.

I was super excited to get stuck into adding photo, memorabilia  and embellishments to the Junk Journal style Travelers Notebook I made on the Facebook live stream.

Here is a couple a pages to start of the sharing of the project.

I loved the Butterbeer in the cut apart that came in the July 2018 Harry Potter inspired kit and knew it would  go very nicely with photos of my boys tasting the Butterbeer.

I loved the combo of brown paper bag on left and small peice of antique writing paper on the right. These were lovely bases for the photos and the embellishment cluster.

I cut the brick paper from the kit into a banner and teamed it up with washi before adding the butterbeer mug from the kit as well  as second on from Colorplay collection.

On the right I kept it simple using label punch to cut out white cardstock, I layered green paper behind it and adding a little journalling. I then stamped best friends around the background.

I didn't want to miss out on opportunity  to use the amazing wood veneer and new this starry night patterned paper was perfect background

Teamed up with a strip.of washi and wella perfection.

Connie - July 2018 Kit - " Magic " ...

Hello Hello Hello!!!!


I love Harry Potter!!!

My son Keenan & I are huge Harry Potter fans, watching & re-watching the movies over & over again!!! we just love it!
We have even started our Harry Potter collection, which sit proudly in our living room!

When we heard that a Harry Potter po-up shop was going up in Myer Melbourne, we jumped at the chance to check it out! Keenan, Jorja & I jumped on a train & headed into the city to check it out! What a crazy day, there where people everywhere! We had a awesome day.








So for this months kit I scrapped a 12x12 layout using one of the photo's from the pop-up shop!
To start of with I picked out an OLD scrapbooking paper from years ago for my back ground, it matched the papers from the kit perfectly.
I then used a Dina Wakely stencil & some texture paste to add some "bricks" to the background. I added a little bit os stamping on the background also using Staz-on Blue Hawall & a Kaisercraft background stamp.













I then layed my photo with papers from th kit & some random stuff sitting on my table!
With my title i used some super OLD Heidi Swapp chipboard alphas, painted them white & added a little bit off gold flakes while the paint was still wet! ... I just love the look!

Amy- Winter Moodboard- Snuggles with Indie

Hey Scrappin Fun Peeps,

I am back today with a chilly challenge for you, the Scrapping Fun Winter moodboard challenge - have you checked it out yet? If not here it is for you

For me I went with the colours and overall 'feel' of the mood board of snuggles and warmth when I created my layout. So I started with some different coloured purple gelatos and smooshed them onto some packaging, added some water and then just brush painted them across the right side of my page.
I layered my photos using some of the pastel green coloured patterned papers from the June kits and placed them to the left of my page, as in the photos my son is looking across to the right. I then tried choosing embellishments that were purple or then some of the pastel type colours in the left bottom box in the mood board. To balance out the colour palette I also picked some black and white pieces from the 'Case of the blahs' collection by Pink Fresh Studio (added bonus is that these have a home kind of tone to them).

I didn't add lots of big embellishments as the photos and the mixed media were 'big' enough for the layout, so the embellishments were to tie in the colours and theme of the mood board in small and subtle ways.

I did at first think this would be a bit of a challenge, but in the end found this mood board to be quite easy enough to complete, so jump in and give it a go!
I will have a video up on my channel this week for it so be sure to keep an eye out in the inspiration group for it.

Raelene - July 2018 Kit - Polar Express Card

When I first saw the train washi in the July 2018 Harry Potter inspired kit I felt it was perfect for not just a Harry Potter project but also a Polar Express project so I started by creating a Printable which I printed on 200gsm paper.  If you ordered one of the July 2018 Kits check your email as I will be sending you a copy of this printable.

I selectively cut my paper so I could slot the washi in under it so the ticket was over the train.  As I decided to turn it into a card I cut down my paper to suite my card front, factoring in how the washi would affect the length of the card front.

For my card base I cut some black cardstock to 7.5 inches by 8 inches, giving me a finished 4 x 7.5 inch card.


I chose to use Helmar Acid Free Glue to adhere my paper so I would have movement while sticking it down so I could tweak things if needed.
I started by just sticking down the area of the paper that the washi would be slotting under.
I then carefully stuck the washi down, lining it up with the left paper edge and trimmed the right hand side to be the same width as the paper.
I glued down the ticket onto the washi.

I was calling this done and then hubby said it needs snow so I grabbed my white paint and put a small amount on a pallet and added a little water.  I flicked some of the watered down paint onto my card to represent snow which worked beautifully on the paper and wiped any that landed on the ticket off it with a wet wipe.

I love the finished card, it was so quick to create.
Now I just need to work out who I should send this Christmas card to this year and put a message inside.

Jaymilee - July 2018 Kit - Magic

Hey lovely peeps, I'm up today on the blog sharing a 9x12 layout I created using the July embellishment kit. The layout I created I wanted to focus on the word magic rather than the theme of harry potter. What I did was break off the deathly hallows symbol from the wood veener. I know it was scary to break the piece like this but I was a little thrown on how to use the piece and this was a way I knew I could use it. Next I traced around it to create a template that I used for the background.

 What I did was cut triangles of the same size from the papers in the kit. Next I cut out a few blank triangles which I then covered with the washi tape included in the kit and a design team bonus.
I places all the triangles on the page randomly in a strip down the left side of the page. All I did was make sure that the same pattern wasn’t next to each other, and I just stuck them down with double sided tape, you could also use wet glue to glue them down.

You can use this technique with any shapes and it will give an awesome effect.

I just used some gold tissue paper and kraft cardstock from my stash to mat the photo. I didn’t want to take away from the background I created but I wanted a little something to make the photo pop and gold worked really well for that.



















Next I just hand cut a heart from the papers in the kit, you can also use a punch or die to do this is you aren’t confident in doing this freehand. I glued that down along with the birdcage charm from the kit to make a little embellishment clusters at the bottom ride side of the photo.

Using the theme of magic I came up with the title your friendship is magic. I used some gold thickers from my stash. and just wrote the rest of the title in my own script font. also added a little cluster on the side using the paper flower from the kit and gold heart and arrows from my stash.

I hope you all enjoyed this layout. I love how it turned out. Don't be afraid to alter your embellishments to suit what you need them for.
